On this night, October 24th, 1989 Edna and I were upstairs coloring our Opening Menus with friends and family…we had absolutely no idea if anyone would walk up those stairs for a Cheeseburger In Paradise. It could’ve gone either way, no one cared or everyone was in on the adventure of two girls who had absolutely no idea what they were doing. Luckily for us it was the beginning of a 35 year ride of a lifetime. Thank you Lahaina and Thank You All for seeing what we saw! It’s highly unlikely we will be allowed to rebuild at 811 Front Street. We appreciate all your kind words since the tragic fire and will never forget your love and loyalty to Cheeseburger In Paradise🍔❤️

8 years ago this was such a tough time to rebuild the entire building, I was so aggravated, pi**ed off, mad at the contractor, the county…every single obstructionist that kept us from getting back to normal…now I’d give anything if those were the only problems Cheeseburger had. Everyday that passes with no forward motion is one more death of our Cheeseburger Dream. After 18 months we still do not have our liquor license so we can rebuild anywhere on Maui. Now don’t post your outrage, I live with it everyday…just know we are still trying against all odds to rebuild…🍔💪❤️Laren

We are incredibly blessed to be opening Cheeseburger In Paradise in South Maui this fall.
So it’s time to begin sending your license plates! Please limit your plates to All Things Hawaii,Maui, Aloha or Cheeseburgers as we have limited space. We are beyond excited and grateful and can’t wait to see you all again.

This is most likely the last photo of our beloved Cheeseburger In Paradise before the flames took it down. We opened at 811 Front Street, Lahaina 34 years ago and began the Adventure of Our Lives. It has been an honor to Serve Aloha Daily to each and every one of you and we remain eternally grateful for your kind words of love and support…From Edna and I and our Cheeseburger Family, the pleasure has been all ours….A Hui Hou…Until we meet again❤️🍔💪

Aloha,

Thank you to all of you who have donated, shared our fund and offered kind words of comfort and encouragement over the last few weeks. We will continue to grieve with our friends and neighbors in Lahaina for all that was lost as we continue to be hopeful for the future.

On September 8, 2023 we will be closing this fund and distributing it to our 58 team members at Cheeseburger In Paradise, Lahaina. The money raised will be divided pro rata based on length of employment.
