Call for Volunteers: Muscle Needed for Keiki Sailing Boat Transport

We just wrapped up an incredible first day of our LYC Keiki Summer Sailing Class in partnership with Maui Community Sailing Foundation and Kahākūkahi Ocean Academy The kids had a fantastic time on the water, but to keep this program running smoothly, we need a little extra muscle.

We are looking for strong volunteers who can help us haul the boats each day of the camp Tues-Wed-Thurs:

Morning Haul: 9am at Mala Shed (Moving boats from storage to the beach)
Afternoon Haul: 2pm at Baby Beach South End (Moving boats from the beach back to storage)

If you have some muscle to spare and can help out for one or more of these shifts, your time would be greatly appreciated.

Flite Racing is an Olson 40 that will be racing in California Offshore Race Week. Flying the Lahaina Yacht Club burgee, the team of Maui/Oahu sailors will be training for the ultimate goal of TransPac 2027. Flite will be racing to its permanent home in Lahaina. The Olson 40 is the big sister to the LYC Olson 30 Lele. Built in 1990, she is the last build of the 40s. The ULDB design has been optimized for downwind racing with a new wardrobe of North Sails, designed by Fuzz Foster of North Sails Honolulu. The team consists of Ian Ponting (Kula)/Maxwell Roth (Honolulu/San Francisco)/Jim McManus (Kula)/Sean Feeny( Tucson, AZ). Follow the team on IG
