Today, I had lunch with mom at Hawaii Grill. It’s in the shopping center across Ambassador from Costco. Inside, there’s a row of real pineapples, hoola outfits and TVs showing scenes of Hawaii. they also play soothing spa music.

I ordered steak and shrimp with noodles. It comes with stirfry broccoli and carrots. You also can choose soup or salad. Of course I had miso soup. You get to choose your own sauce for your meat. I chose teriyaki and mom had Hawaiian.

The meal came with broccoli which I really love. It also came with pineapple chunks and carrots which I didn’t like. The brocolli had good flavor and a dissolving texture. The shrimp was sweet with a starch like texture. The outside under the sauce was crispy. The steak was chewy and the flavor was delicious! The noodles were mushy and slightly sweet. Easy to chew and swallow.

I enjoyed Hawaii Grill. I’ll give it a seven out of 10 blue mohawks!

There’s a fairly new Italian restaurant in town and it is great!

Tonight we had Italian at Amore Italian Ristorante on Johnson Street next to Todd’s car wash.

I had the lobster ravioli mom had the shrimp piccata and dad had the Cannaloni. Each one of us really enjoyed our meals. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were wonderful without being too strong. My ravioli sauce was kind of sweet and cheesy. Dad‘s cannelloni had a whole lot of mozzarella cheese in it. Mom said she could taste the lemon without it being too strong in her Picatta. They bring out a fresh basket of hot garlic rolls at the start of your meal.

I give Amore six blue Mohawks.

Today we visited one of my favorite places to eat: Tim’s kitchen on Albertsons Parkway.

Today I had the stuffed pork chop. My mom had the meatball stew. They have daily specials and regular everyday items. The pork was juicy and slightly seasoned. The inside was salty and flavorful. It’s served on rice and gravy. And most of the meals come with potato salad and navy beans. The potato salad was creamy and deep yellow. The navy beans were surprisingly good because I don’t really like beans. Every meal comes with a roll. You can buy another roll for less than a dollar. Trust me, you are going to want another roll! They are buttery, fluffy, greasy, and salty. Best roll I ever had! I’ve also tried the gumbo before.

My mom had the meatball stew which was served on rice and gravy. The meatballs were spicy, big, and salty.

It’s a metal building with a red and white sign. Inside were paintings and pictures surrounding wood tables, chairs, and barstools.

This is one of the best places ever! And for that I give it the rare 10 blue Mohawks!

For lunch today we stopped at the Shrimp Basket on Perdido Key Boulevard.

I had the coconut shrimp. My uncle had the shrimp and fish basket. I like coconut, I like shrimp, I don’t like coconut shrimp. They had a good hot sauce. The coconut on the shrimp was there to give the shrimp flavor. It was sweet and crunchy. The shrimp were huge! It came with coleslaw. It’s their special shrimp coleslaw with shrimp of course.

My uncle’s shrimp and fish basket was fresh and dark. He likes it that way. It was excellently seasoned. They loved it!

It was wooden with a small ramp and a deck. You could eat inside or outside. We ate outside. It was a nice breeze.

I rate it seven blue mohawks.

For lunch we stopped at Felix‘s Fishhouse on Battleship Parkway in Mobile, AL.

I had seafood gumbo with coleslaw. Dad had shrimp and grits and pork chops. Mom had red beans and rice. The seafood gumbo tasted like tomatoes but the coleslaw was sweet and fresh. dad said his dish was wonderful and very filling. Mom said the red beans were really good. They both had fried green tomatoes as a side. I tasted one. They tasted crispy and salty.

Outside you can see a big wooden building with a big ramp you have to walk up to get inside. Inside were wooden benches, fluffy chairs, and paintings. To your right when you enter,Is the hostess desk. There was also a large window where you could see the bay.

I rate it six blue Mohawks.

Off Exit 22 from I-12 (go right), we found a little place called Porky’s. It’s on the right side of the Travel plaza.

Today we tried a variety. I had Boudin balls.with fries. I also tried chicken Cracklins, fried crawfish pie, and smoked pork Boudin. My favorite was the cracklins (and I don’t even like Cracklins)! I thought the boudin balls were a bit flavorless. Dad said the pulled pork was delicious and very filling. The french fries were not crunchy but I like them that way. Mom said the smoked pork Boudin was really spicy.

They also have a big cooler with lots of things in it that you can buy and take home and homemade seasoning and other stuff.

Today we had lunch at BJ’s Brewhouse on Ambassador near Costco. It looks like a steakhouse from outside. On the inside, there are many TV’s, a bar and tons of tables. Their chairs are padded and comfy. Their lanterns are exotic.

You need to bring your phone in because their menus are by scan.

We had fried cheese curds at the beginning. They taste like fluffy salted mozzarella wrapped in crispy goodness with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. You can have ranch or marinara as a dip for them.

It was hard to choose because they offer so many choices but today I had the shrimp scampi. It was very buttery and delicious! It was kind of salty but not spicy.

Mom and dad had burgers. Dad had the crispy jalapeño burger and mom had the Bison burger.

We ended our meal with their salted caramel Pizookie. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a cookie cooked in an iron skillet like a pizza. It is a warm, melty, toasty treat. On top of the cookie is ice cream and caramel or chocolate sauce.

I would rate BJ’s Brewhouse 8 blue Mohawks.

I love chocolate chip cookies and this place has some GIANT ones! It’s also a nice place to sit outside on the patio and drink an icy cold milk (or two!) or an iced tea. My Dad likes their Mochasippis.

Inside you can definitely smell coffee you can see tons of tables and the counter immediately. Outside you can see trees and the traffic on Camellia Blvd.

I rate CC’s coffeehouse Six blue mohawks!

Today we visited Emmas Café located next to Bailey’s at the corner of Johnson and investor Caffrey.

When we walked up to the restaurant it had a red gate around it and nice big letters “Ema’s café”. We walked inside greeted by nice waiters. The inside was fancy. They had linen napkins and colorful paintings on the wall. They played 1950-1970s music which was fun.

I started with the breakfast beignets and they tasted sweet and sugary. The inside was fluffy and the outside was crispy. they also let me have eggs and sausage on the side.

The eggs were also fluffy but needed a little seasoning like salt and pepper of course. The sausage was crispy and well seasoned.

I recommend Ema’s Cafe. I will be assigning a number of mohawks 1 to 10 for how much I like a place.

I gave Emma‘s 7.5 Blue Mohawks!
