One of my favorite ways to use up leftover sourdough… ❤️

I had half a loaf of our Roasted Garlic & Rosemary Sourdough sitting on the counter a little longer than we planned, so it turned into one of our family’s favorite breakfasts—a hearty breakfast casserole.

The best bread pudding-style casseroles actually start with slightly stale bread, so don’t toss those last few slices!

Here’s what I use:
• ½ loaf Roasted Garlic & Rosemary Sourdough, cubed (let it sit out 8–24 hours if it’s fresh)
• 1 lb breakfast sausage
• 12 eggs
• 2 cups milk (or 2 cups cottage cheese for extra protein—I used cottage cheese today!)
• Veggies you have on hand
• Cheese, sprinkled on after baking because I prefer it melty instead of crispy.

The fun part is making it your own:
🧄 Garlic salt + cumin + paprika + cheddar
🍅 Tomatoes + basil + mozzarella
🍄 Mushrooms + spinach + sage + Gouda
🌶️ Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if you like a little heat.

🧄Recipe testing day at H+R Hearth!🧄

Today we pulled our newest creation from the oven—a Roasted Garlic & Rosemary Artisan Sourdough—and we’re already dreaming about all the ways to enjoy it.

Our first thought? Thick slices slathered with garlic butter, topped with melty mozzarella and Parmesan, then baked into the ultimate cheesy garlic bread. 🤤

The aroma of roasted garlic and fresh rosemary filled the kitchen, and we think this one might become a new favorite.

We’re still fine-tuning the recipe, but we’d love to hear from you! What would you make with a loaf like this? Cheesy garlic bread, grilled cheese, soup on the side, or something else?
