Old Fashioned Teaberry Ice Cream Was Hidden in Plain Sight

For weeks, I chased a flavor I remembered.

Not the modern version. Not an imitation. The real old fashioned Pennsylvania teaberry ice cream so many of us grew up with.

I dug through old cookbooks, family recipes, and forgotten notes. Then I found it, tucked inside the pages of a cookbook that had clearly been loved for generations.

The missing ingredient?

Old fashioned pink teaberry lozenges.

I rushed over to Heimbach’s Country Store, picked some up, melted them down, and blended them into our base.

The moment it came out of the machine, I knew.

This was it. The flavor that connects so many Pennsylvanians to childhood, family gatherings, and simpler times.

Old Fashioned Pennsylvania Teaberry Ice Cream will be in the dipping cabinet tomorrow. June 18.

This Father’s Day week we’re scooping three limited edition flavors inspired by some of Dad’s favorite things:

Creamy vanilla malt loaded with swirls of peanut butter, peanut butter cups, and crunchy chocolate covered pretzels.

🔧 Dad’s Toolbox
Rich chocolate malt packed with ribbons of peanut butter and chunks of peanut butter cups.

🪖 Camo
A camouflage blend of black chocolate, peanut butter, and toasted white chocolate, finished with swirls of peanut butter throughout.

Each one is handcrafted in small batches and here for a limited time only.

Mark your calendar — starting Tuesday, June 16, our Bass Pro Shops® and Cabela’s® Mini Bucket Sundaes are back while they last.

Real talk: these don’t hang around. Every year folks ask when they’re coming back, and every year they vanish faster than we expect. So if Dad’s getting one, don’t sleep on it.

Bring him in, let him build his sundae exactly how he likes it, and he walks out with a collectible mini bucket to keep. Long after the ice cream’s gone, the bucket’s still sitting on a shelf in the garage or holding tackle by the door.
