Last Friday, our department was proud to be a part of the launch of the “It Takes a Volunteer” campaign, celebrating the people and experiences that make the Volunteer community so special.

Our HTM students had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and help bring the event to life alongside Chef Tyler White representing our department throughout the celebration with a special spotlight on . 🍽️

A special shoutout to Dr. Kai-Sean Lee for showcasing his art through his sugar art display, featuring our beloved Smokey.
We are grateful to have been part of this exciting launch and look forward to seeing the impact it will have on the Volunteer community! 🍊

Last week, we had some full-circle moments with our HTM students when we gathered new RHTM Vols with RHTM Juniors/Seniors and program alumni!

First, a stop at Visit Knoxville, because who doesn’t need to stop by when they are getting familiar with our great city! There we heard from Monica Armstrong ‘18 and Kalby Lawrence ‘24 a little about their roles, the newly renovated Visitors Center, and opportunities to work with a DMO!

Then, we headed over to Maple Hall where two of our alums serve as events professionals for the company.

It’s safe to say that we keep our HTM students well-connected with each other, program alumni, and industry contacts!
