Good morning Knoxville,
I want to say something powerful to the people out there thinking about following their dream.
Yesterday, I was sitting at home after coming back from the restaurant, thinking about how far this journey has taken me. When this final opportunity came my way, I reached out to Samuel in L.A. at one of the lowest points in my life financially.
Everything I had was tied up in the houses I built, but I still kept applying myself toward obtaining this building.
In my mind, I kept saying, “Just sell the houses, and everything will work out.”
Well, life has a way of reminding you that nothing ever goes exactly like you planned.
But here’s where it gets interesting.
When you want something bad enough, and you believe in yourself enough, no one can stop you. I can still clearly hear the voices of people asking me, “How are you going to do that?”
Those are the words you never let stop you.
My answer was simple: I’ll figure it out, because I always have.
The picture below is me back in 2000, breaking ground on my first original building. In that picture, I think I had about $7.00 to my name. But I said the same thing back then: I’ll figure it out.
And I did.
I started serving my product daily out of a 12 by 14 wooden hut, and from that, I built a 3,500 square foot building.
Most people wait until they have all the money before they start. The problem is, sometimes you never start because you never get all the money first.
BurgerBoys wasn’t built with perfect timing. It wasn’t built with everything already in place. This restaurant was built on faith, hard work, sacrifice, and most importantly, you — the customers — encouraging me with your kind words and your belief in me.
And here we are.
The houses are still on the market, and BurgerBoys is 85% complete.
How powerful is that?
Built by the community.
Time does not wait on anyone. So if you have a dream, don’t let other people’s doubts become your decision. Don’t sit around waiting for the perfect moment. There is always a way when you truly believe.
That’s why BurgerBoys is back.
Because of you.
And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support, the encouragement, and the belief. Without you, I would still be sitting here waiting to sell my houses.
Instead, we’re getting closer. 💪
