To our Funky Monkey followers-
Last night, we made the difficult decision to transfer ownership of our donut trailer. This was not a decision that was made lightly! We are however thrilled that the new owner plans to continue using the trailer to make donuts under her business name, Doodle Dee Bakery.
Funky Monkey started as a storefront in Nov 2016, as a place to support employment goals for individuals with disabilities in our area. It was inspired by my daughter, Megan. The storefront was a great time, but also a learning experience. To overcome some challenges we faced with the storefront model, we adapted the business to be mobile, purchasing and renovating the classic yellow trailer to create donuts on the go.
We have so enjoyed all of the events attended, customers met, and donuts served! We have served at a handful of weddings, countless Foodie Days, parties, celebrations, and many things in between. The community was always welcoming to our business. Waiting in long lines, spreading the word, and sharing business cards was always appreciated. It is our hope that fans of our donuts show the same love to Doodle Dee Bakery.
We are going to hold on to the name of the business, as it was also inspired by our daughter, and meaningful to us!
The love over the past 9 years has been sincerely appreciated. To stay up to date with Doodle Dee Bakery, please give her page a follow.
Thank you,
Barb & Doug Goldinger, Margaret and Rich Check, and family 🍩🐵
