Lost N Found (A Game of Where's Waldo)

and I decided to grab a late lunch at King's Buffet in Kirksville, MO yesterday. While we were waiting to be seated, we noticed that they had a little incognito area right by the doors that appeared to be a lost and found. Never noticed it before because the bamboo camoflouges it somewhat.

I thought I'd take a couple pics and post it up (knowing that we've been here many times and never noticed it, other people probably haven't either).

There's at least:
🔑 2 pairs of car keys
🔑 1 Housekey (or similar)
🕶 2 pairs of sunglasses
🎧 DeWalt headphones
👶 A binky
👓 Reading glasses

Top of the World to Ya

A bird's eye view from the roof top of the trailer at Nehemiah Fest.

We were expecting some high winds in an hour so the flags needed to come down.

Last time we were here and it stormed bad in 2010, the flags flew off the other trailer and catapulted into the ground.

The microburst of 2010 went down in history as "Hurricane Nehemiah" That was the first time we ever felt the need to hide the knives in case the trailer flipped while we were stuck in it!

What a ride that was!

Making Lemonade Out of Lemons 🍋

This makes my heart hurt. I literally don't watch when I pump fuel anymore.

It's killing our bottom line.

Spent $950 in fuel, spot fee, and camping two weekends ago to do a show 3 hours away. Then the weather wasn't great.

It's always a gamble. But an educated one. You gotta learn to take the good with the bad and be positive anyway. You win some, you lose some.

If you wanna make a living in this business, you gotta have a positive attitude, expect the unexpected, and know that you can't plan for everything but do your best to try . Then it's doesn't hurt so much when the unexpected happens. 🫠

It's a labor of love. The people we meet in the process and loving what we do makes it worth it. It's always an adventure and God always has our back!

Miss doing her thing repping for the Centerville Fire Department.

She's doing what she does best...and that's double dipping. 😆 or in her case you could call it quintuple dipping. She works as the assistant manager for SFC, works as a paramedic at 3 jobs, and is also a volunteer fire fighter!

She a very valuable person to have at events. However, sometimes you will find her at the window selling funnel cakes and lemonade, then she disappears to respond to festival goers for first aid.

And don't be surprised if you come to the window for food and she asks you about your broken body parts. 😉
