And Coconut Wireless is keepin’ up with it.

We at CocoWire.com are constantly internet trolling—and even on the prowl old-school style, like actually calling people on the phone—to get the true word on what’s really goin’ on.

And we’re a’likin what we’re a’seein. 😎🤙

Crews are still working, and some key areas remain off-limits, but Kauaʻi, on the whole, is hyped and ready.

Restaurants are open. Shops are open. Activities are running. Events are happening. And our island community is doing what it does best—showing up.

That being said, we’ve all seen what Mama Nature can do. So be weather vigilant and any cancellations or postponings we see or hear about we will post in stories.

If Hurricane Lowell prevented you from filing or paying your GET or TAT on time, Hawai‘i tax relief may be available.

✅ Request a case-by-case waiver of penalties and interest
✅ Covers August–November 2026 tax periods
✅ File Form L-115B through Hawai‘i Tax Online
✅ Select “2026 Disaster Relief Request”
⏰ Submit and pay by January 20, 2027

Important: This does not erase the taxes you owe. It may waive penalties and interest caused by late filing or payment.

Our grassroots community is a STRONG one. And we’ve seen that in action recently. 💪🏝️

Many of our peeps rely on our local gatherings like art walks, farmers markets, craft fairs, and other island events to make a living. Getting these events back up and running means getting money flowing back into our local community. ❤️

So tag what you know, we’ll add to the Coconut Wireless calendar and pass on any flyers that come our way.

Kauaʻi doesn’t stay down for long. ❤️🌈🏝️💪

The speed at which our island has picked itself up, gotten to work, and reopened its doors has been pretty incredible to watch. 💯 In a remarkably short time, most of our restaurants, food trucks, shops and markets are back OPEN, and hotels are welcoming guests again too. 🙌

That’s Kauaʻi. Resilient, resourceful, and a community that shows up for each other. ❤️

But recovery isn’t happening at the same pace everywhere. Some areas and businesses were hit much harder and still need time, patience and support. So as the island welcomes people back, please bring a little extra aloha and understanding with you. 🤙

Kauaʻi is reopening at LIGHTNING SPEED! ⚡️🌈🏝️

There are definitely areas of our island that are still healing and rebuilding, but all across Kauaʻi, doors are reopening, events are happening, and our community is raring to go! ❤️

Whether you want to boogie down with some incredible local musicians, cruise a market, grab some ono grinds, or lend a hand with relief and restoration efforts — there are plenty of ways to get out and get involved this weekend.

So show up. Support local. Help where you can. Have some FUN. And come see the strength, resilience, and aloha of our Kauaʻi community in action. ❤️🌈🏝️💪🤙
