Fresh fish from Maui waters, brought in by hardworking local fishermen and prepared with care right here in Kihei.

We’re grateful for the people who fish these waters and for the ʻāina that provides.

It’s more than a phrase on our wall.

"Pono" is about doing what is right. Taking care of the people and the ʻāina entrusted to our care.

For us at Nalu’s, that means serving food that was grown and caught locally, welcoming people with aloha, supporting local musicians, showing up for Maui whenever we can.

Maui gives us so much, and we feel a deep sense of duty and gratitude in all we do.

We’re not perfect, but we try to lead with heart and be pono.

Eating around Hawai‘i: Nalu’s South Shore Grill — Kihei, Maui

Hands down, Nalu’s has been one of our favorite spots on Maui, actually in all of Hawai‘i! From the insanely amazing breakfast selection to the Happy Hour offerings to everything on the menu itself (even the POG and Mai Tais!) you are sure to enjoy something from this great little place beaming with the Aloha Spirit. Check them out when you’re on Maui.

Btw, I’m still dreaming about that omelet and truly the best breakfast potatoes I have ever had… anywhere.

Here’s what we had this trip:
1. Island Pancakes $15 — Served with a homemade citrus-rum syrup, pineapple, bananas, roasted mac nuts, and Nalu’s Devonshire cream

2. Big Kahuna Omelet $18— Three egg omelet filled with our house kim chee fried rice with Portuguese sausage, applewood smoked bacon, black forest ham, finished with melted swiss and cheddar

3. Daily Special: Avo Eggs Benedict

4. Corn Flake Crusted French Toast $17 — Hawaiian Sweet Bread stuffed with pineapple-lilikoi marmalade cream, topped with pineapple, bananas, lilikoi boba, and toasted mac nuts

5. HH: Crab Cakes $7 — 3-Panko-crusted Maryland Blue crab cakes served with mango salsa and sriracha aioli

6. HH: Island Style Ribs W-Respect $7 — Kaibi marinated in a sweet ginger soy sauce, finished with bulgog glaze, green onions, and toasted sesame seeds

May reviews are in, and there’s some debate about what stole the show this month. 🌊

Was it our world-famous Mai Tai with that lilikoi foam we all know and love? Our happy hour pūpūs? The nightly live local music featuring so many talented local artists and special Maui guests?

Our guests also had plenty to say about the best poke bowl on Maui and the aloha our team works hard to share every day.

Looking for live music on Maui this weekend? 🌊

Join us at Nalu’s for a free night of amazing local music, starting with Rama Camarillo at 5pm.

Then at 7pm, WAIAKOA takes the stage with Anthony Pfluke, Ethan Villanueva, and Tarvin Makia.

Anthony and Tarvin have both been nominated for Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, Hawaiʻi’s version of the Grammys. And Ethan's extraordinary hula will have you grinning from ear to ear.

It’s a special night of local talent Maui style. This Friday at Nalu's.

A hui hou, Auntie Nellie Bell. 🤍

Auntie Nellie brought joy to so many of us through her music and her contagious smile. She passed away peacefully last week at her Maui home surrounded by her loving family.

At 92 years old, she was still teaching water aerobics, still playing the spoons at Nalu's and other venues, still dressing up like a million bucks for every event, and still spreading joy.

She had a vivacious spirit and a beautiful drive to make the most of life, and everyone who had the gift of watching her play could feel it.

These videos were taken in February, on one of those especially vibrant days when Auntie Nellie lit up the room in the way only she could.

What an example she was of living fully, sharing aloha freely, and finding joy wherever she went.

Mahalo, Auntie Nellie, for the aloha you brought to so many throughout your life, including your grateful Nalu’s ʻohana.

Nalu's South Shore Grill delivers the authentic Maui experience - unbelievably fresh seafood, live island music, and the perfect laid-back Hawaiian vibe. They are located in central Kihei town of Maui.
The Korean poke taco, seared ahi tuna, and especially the crab cakes were outstanding — easily some of the best crab cakes I've ever had. The spicy tuna poke bowl was as beautiful as it was delicious, and the Pacific mahi mahi curry was packed with flavor and perfectly cooked fish in coconut gravy. Coconut girl and Kimokeo Mana drinks were so refreshing.
With local bands playing live every night, the place stays energetic, lively, and full of aloha while still feeling relaxed and welcoming. A must-visit spot in Maui.
Kanekoa band was playing when visited. I did not know they are a world famous band, however they captivated the audience with their melodious music and I was drawn in as well. The night and the music went on, but I had to leave.
I had such fun time at , it was an experience fit for paradise. Shout out to Kai for the hospitality shown.
Social responsibility and environmental concern is on display everywhere in Hawaii. is no exception.
A few fun facts about them
1. They give so much back to the community. In a recent fundraiser for people on the island facing cancer, they raised $30,000.
2. They always support local fisherman and local farmers.
3. Their chefs open some of the most premier restaurants in Maui, and the quality of their food shows it.
