April 12th, finally we could have
1054’s 9th anniversary party
We postponed it two months
because of Uncle Kimo’s schedule
Since we open 1054,
we have had his blessing,
that’s why it was worth to wait
For us, especially people
from outside,
it’s very important to respect
and follow a traditional way
That’s why every year
we have his blessing with appreciation
to this island and customers
After that
we have “Thank you party”
with close 1054 Ohana
who have been supporting us
Now that it’s our traditional event
Last year, for the first time,
suddenly
tears flowed down on my face
with worry about my business
and felt so lonely
But we could go through
“the last 5 years” and stay open
That’s everything
I have felt still we’re lucky and blessed
I’m not sure
Kimo felt something or not though,
we were so surprised
because his blessing was
incredibly strong
It was the most powerful and dramatic
like his “Mana(=soul)”
was crying out for,
as if it blew all the negative energy away
After having the blessing and party,
I deeply feel…
finally I could make my restaurant
warmhearted perfect aloha place
We believe
what we have been doing
with strong belief and passion
We’ll keep believing it, our possibilities
and “ourselves”
And keep spreading
our authentic sushi
which has sensitive and subtle skills
with “Japanese soul”
and “Omotenashi”
which is Japanese
warmhearted hostility
without expecting anything in return
and come from my “soul”
It’s the most beautiful
Japanese sprit
I believe…it’s my life mission
to spread it with “ALOHA”
You can enjoy and experience
“something different and special”
only here in 1054
all over the world
I do hope my words from my soul
is spreading all over Maui
and touches your heart deeply 🩵
Lastly…thanks to your support,
we can stay open and live
in this beautiful island
I have lived with the appreciation
since 2017…🌅🌅🌅
