Our neighborhood in Kerrville was hit hard by the recent flood. It’s 8pm and the Ingram Fire Department is here reaching out to everyone. Normally when firetrucks and rescue vehicles come down our street with firefighters walking alongside, it’s a parade! Tonight it’s outreach. And we appreciate you _.ivfd._ ❤️💪🏽🚒👨‍🚒👨🏽‍🚒🧯

Vecinos Cafe is 2 years old! 🎉

It was low key. Like last year. The flood overshadowed our desire to celebrate the cafe. We’re so thankful for the community. We love the small setting. We love the customers and we’re so thankful for our team. Laura Fore and Micah Fore have been the best landlords. There’s nothing we would change! So thank you Kerrville for making year 2 possible for us and supporting our small cafe through last year’s flood that is part of our first year experience.

We marked this day just as we did last year. Last year, Chef G and I went to and we shared a Tiramisu cake that Taylor surprised us with.

Tonight we marked year 2 at with a chocolate pie cheesecake creation.

Cheers to you Kerrville! We’re looking forward to this next year!

THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support the benefit for Taqueria Jalisco! Well over $5,000 was collected in two hours because of you Kerrrville!!

You showed up in droves to support Taqueria Jalisco with dine in, take out and just dropping off donations. We tried our best to keep up with y’all but if you didn’t have a great experience come back and tell us so we can make it great for you. (Sarah Stone, you got the wrong take out order and we know it! So come back friend!!)

The night kicked off with a phone in donation from Rosalee in Maryland who was visiting Kerrville on July 3 and had dinner at Taqueria Jalisco. She heard about TJ and wanted to help.

And THANK YOU to Bill Mahko, “ Coach” Clifton Fifer and George for generously providing the wonderful live music! (Fun Fact: Perla was a student of Clifton’s years ago.) And to our friends and customers who stepped in to help us serve others. DR Coleman rushed in when he saw we were needing extra hands🙏 and Diego from Wilson’s who was a huge help!

The community is behind you Perla and Diego!! It will be a long road but your vecinos, amigos and customers far and wide will be waiting for your return!

TONIGHT we’re hosting an LIVE MUSIC event featuring Bill Makho and Clifton Fifer to benefit Taqueria Jalisco Kerrville from 5pm-7pm. All cafe proceeds will be donated between 5-7pm. Please donate to help rebuild a community favorite!

Restaurants aren’t just food. They are a place to gather. To celebrate. To mourn. To mark a milestone. For birthdays. For reunions. For baby showers. For memorials. For Bible studies. For engagements. For graduations. Kerrville has a history with Taqueria Jalisco for many of these events and more.

Each restaurant has its own vibe. And we need Taqueria Jalisco to rebuild. And Green Grocer Deli. And Carrot Patch. We need them all. And today we invite you to vecinos_cafe to benefit Taqueria Jalisco’s efforts to come together and donate in person. 100% of the proceeds will go to Perla and Diego, long standing Kerrville residents and business owners who have raised their family here.

Plenty of parking. Everyone is encouraged to come by and donate to the rebuilding efforts for Taqueria Jalisco.
