The windows are finally painted! 🎃🩷 Apparently making the donuts wasn’t enough. I needed to give a black cat one, too.

Painted these myself between all the other things, and I’m pretty proud of how they turned out. A little spooky, a little sweet, and very much us.

Two are finished. The third is accepting thoughts and prayers.

I did finish the donut on it first, so my priorities remain clear.

At least 48 varieties everyday. Two humans. A whole lot of love and rock ’n’ roll. 🖤🍩

We put our October menu together and had a little “holy cow… we make ALL of that” moment. 🐄

From pumpkin pie to Nutella cream, warm cinnamon rolls, fritters, and flaky danishes—this is what Ben and I get up before the sun to make for you.

A little love letter from our family on this last Wednesday of September. 🍂🧡

Sometimes I look at our shop and think about how strange and beautiful it is to dream something up… and then have a key to its front door.

ThunderStruck is part of our life in ways I’m still finding words for. The early alarms. Ben at the fryer. The songs that become donuts. The boys watching us figure it out as we go. All these little pieces of our family coming together into a place where you can walk in and choose something sweet.

And you DO. You walk in. You come back. You bring someone you love. You tell a friend about us, share a picture, make us part of your morning. Something we imagined has become a small part of other people’s lives, and that still amazes me.

Our lives keep happening alongside this dream. There has been so much joy this year, and there has been grief. There are tired days and wonderful days, sometimes all tangled up together. You may never know what it has meant to look up and see a familiar face at the counter.

Thank you for making room for our family in your world.

Now here comes fall, with its crooked little grin. Pumpkin and cinnamon, glowing windows, creatures taking shape under a paintbrush. This season makes me want to turn the music up and make things. Give a donut a ridiculous name. Put a little enchantment somewhere somebody might stumble into it on an ordinary morning.

I’m so excited for what we get to make and share with you next.

I hope, years from now, the boys remember the smell of the shop, the music, and the people who kept coming through that door. I hope they remember that we made something with our hands and our whole hearts, and people met us there.
