Indaba Coffee Roasters

Indaba Coffee Roasters Every bag sold provides a meal to someone in need! Crafting the perfect cup of coffee is an art, and it's our passion. We love connection.

We believe that everyone deserves a truly premium, and correctly brewed cup of coffee. We not only strive to serve the better cup, we promise to. Unlike many, our cafe is both barista operated, and barista owned. We have set extensive protocols to ensure both perfection and consistency in our craft. But what good would all of that be without you? We love coffee, but even more so we love people. The Local is meant to be a place of not only great coffee, but great conversation. Nothing brings humans together like coffee does. The modern espresso industry has not only revolutionized the way that we look at coffee, but the way that we look at each other. People are connecting in places they would never expect. Every day we see strangers sharing moments, meeting and venturing into something that they potentially would never have had they not decided they needed that cup of coffee. That is what excites us the most.

We are so excited to announce that we are hosting Craft Coffee Day 2026! Spokane’s coffee community is coming together.

This day is about more than coffee competitions. It’s about bringing people together, sharing what we love, supporting one another, and building something as a community.

We’ll have a Roaster Village, Brew Competition, and Latte Art Throwdown throughout the day, with proceeds going to families impacted by the Spokane Area Fires.

Whether you’re a roaster, barista, coffee professional, or just someone who loves a good cup of coffee, we’d love to have you be part of it.

Our hope is that this is just the beginning of something we can continue to grow together, a community event created by and for Spokane’s coffee community.

Come hang out, meet some amazing people, drink some great coffee, and help us build something special. ❤️☕️

Meet Mel — our Roastery Director!

She’s been part of Indaba for six years and brings major black cat energy to everything she does (plus, her face has truly never met a situation it couldn’t react to). ✨🐈‍⬛

When she’s not at work, you can find her outside — playing volleyball, lounging by the river, or spending time playing sports with her kids. Coastal Grandma is always the vibe, and there’s a good chance she has a crochet project with her wherever she goes. 🧶

Her perfect Indaba order? A 16oz hot Americano with a triple shot, maple + brown sugar, steamed oat milk, and cinnamon on top. Or an extra hot matcha with honey and oat milk.

She’s currently counting down for Nebraska volleyball season, loves Baby Mama, and firmly believes that blasting throwbacks (bonus points for Kip Moore) with the sunroof open on a back road can cure just about anything.

This is Mel. And we’re pretty lucky she’s ours. 🤍

Like so many of you, we have been heartbroken watching the Spokane Complex fires tear through our community. I grew up down Indian Trail, and seeing the devastation in that area and across Spokane, with hundreds of homes lost, has hit close to home in the truest sense.

At the same time, we have been moved by how quickly Spokane has come together. Neighbors sheltering neighbors, strangers showing up to help, businesses and volunteers organizing support within hours of the fires breaking out. It is a reminder that no one in this community has to go through something like this alone.

We want to do our part. For the entire month of September, Indaba Coffee will donate 10 percent of all bagged coffee sales, in store, online, and through our wholesale partners, to the Innovia Foundation. This donation will support impacted individuals and families through their nonprofit partners who have experience providing direct services to our community. Our friends at Heritage Bank are also matching our donation up to $10,000. Our goal is to raise at least $20,000 total for our neighbors who need it most.

And as always, every bag of Indaba coffee you buy provides a meal to someone in need in our community, so this month your purchase does double duty: a meal for someone facing hunger, and direct support for our neighbors rebuilding after the fires. That means every cup brewed at your favorite cafe or restaurant serving Indaba coffee this September is also contributing to this effort.

If you would like to support the fund directly, you can do so here: https://innovia.org/wildfire-response/

Thank you to everyone who has shown up for Spokane during this time. We will get through this together.
