Kylei Lamson of South Addison was 5 years old when she started going out lobstering with her grandfather, Ernie Cirone, aboard the FV Cirone Tradition. A quick learner, she was setting her own traps by the time she was seven.

β€œPapa showed me all the importance of fishing traps, driving the boat, safety, and the love for the ocean,” Kylei said. Ernie is still lobstering but Kylei is now in her own boat, the 22-foot Papa’s Shadow. β€œI like being outside on the water, making my own money and learning the family tradition,” Kylei said. β€œI don’t really like working with the bait and the empty traps!”

Meet the MLA Board! 🦞

Meet Adam Gamage! Hailing from South Bristol, Adam began his career on the water in 1985 aboard a 14-foot wooden skiff. A third-generation lobsterman, Adam fishes out of the South Bristol Fishermen’s Co-op, where he also serves on their Board. Inspired by the legacy of his father, Arnie Gamage, Adam stepped up to support Maine’s fishing communities and industry traditions and has proudly served on our board for the past three years. When he’s not hauling traps, you’ll find him out on the golf course working on his swing!
