💛 KOKUA FOR OUR ʻOHANA — HURRICANE LOWELL RECOVERY 💛

Aloha everyone,

I’m sharing this with a humble heart because our family could really use some help.

Hurricane Lowell caused major damage to the roof of our home. Our church members and loved ones have already stepped in to help us cover the roof with a tarp while we wait for repairs. We are incredibly grateful for every person who has stood beside our family during this difficult time.

Our insurance requires us to pay a $13,000 deductible before the roof repairs can move forward. Right now, that amount feels overwhelming.

At the same time, our small family food truck, Pineapple Express Kauai, has been struggling financially since Hurricane Lowell. Business has slowed down tremendously, and we are doing everything we can to keep our doors open, take care of our family, and recover.

We are asking for help—not because it is easy to ask, but because we truly need it.

Sept. 30: The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Kauaʻi due to heavy rain over the island.

Flash flooding is imminent or occurring in streams, roads and low-lying areas. Do not cross fast-flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.

Kauaʻi Police Department has closed one lane of Kūhiō Highway near the Hanalei Bridge. The Hanalei River gage shows rising water. Motorists should expect delays and use caution in the area.

Expect ponding, low visibility and hazardous driving conditions. If you must drive, use extreme caution.

Road conditions and closures: 808-241-1725. Call 911 for emergencies only.
