Tortellini Pasta Salad
20 ounces refrigerated cheese tortellini
1 pint cherry tomatoes halved
1 large cucumber diced
1 small red onion finely chopped
1 cup sliced pepperoni
8 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
1 can sliced black olives drained
1 bottle of zesty Italian dressing
A little bit of grated parmesan cheese
I boiled the tortellini for just a few minutes until they were tender and then rinsed them under cold water so they wouldn't stick together. While those were cooling down I chopped up all the veggies and the pepperoni and threw them into a big mixing bowl with the mozzarella pearls and olives. I added the cold pasta to the bowl and poured the whole bottle of dressing over everything along with a sprinkle of parmesan and gave it a really good toss. It definitely tastes best if you let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour before you serve it so the pasta can soak up all the dressing.
This is my absolute favorite thing to bring to a summer cookout because the bowl is always empty by the end of the day.

🚨 FATHER’S DAY SHOOTING🚨

A Father’s Day gathering turned tragic Sunday afternoon after a shooting in Kankakee left one man dead and another injured.

According to the Kankakee Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired around 3:35 p.m. in the 1100 block of East Merchant Street.

When officers arrived, they located two gunshot victims in the front yard of a residence. A 59-year-old man suffered injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening. The second victim, identified as Randall D. Young, 40, of Kankakee, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and later died at the hospital.

Investigators recovered evidence from the scene and have interviewed several witnesses. Authorities say the investigation remains active and ongoing, and no additional information has been released at this time. Authorities have also said that all witnesses are cooperative.
