Usually this is when we start thinking about Halloween, fall flavors, and how quickly Thanksgiving will be here. This year, weā€™re also thinking of the KauaŹ»i families and businesses still recovering from the hurricane. The calendar may have turned, but recovery takes its own time.

At The Right Slice, weā€™re grateful for the familiar things: pies in the oven, customers stopping by, and the chance to make dinner a little easier for someone.

And just like thatā€¦ September is DONE. Seriously. Didnā€™t we just start this month?
Meanwhile, our ovens kept going Pies were made.
Dishes were washed and our customers came and went.
Orders went out the door. And somehow another month disappeared.

Thatā€™s smal business life. You spend so much time concentrating on what needs to happen today that every once in a while you look at the calendar and wonder where the month went.

Now October is knocking.

The holidays are getting closer, fall flavors are sounding pretty good, Halloween is coming and whether weā€™re ready to admit it or not Thanksgiving isnā€™t that far away.

But before we jump into October, we want to say MAHALO to everyone who visited us, ordered a pie, liked or shared a post, recommended us to a friend or simply cheered us on this month.

We appreciate you more than you know.

How is it already September 29?! šŸ˜³

We swear we were just welcoming September, and somehow October is already standing at the door.

Around here, the days have been filled with rolling dough, filling pie shells, pulling pies out of the oven, helping customers decide which slice they really want (the struggle is real , washing what feels like a million dishes, and doing it all over again the next day.

Thereā€™s something pretty special about being a little pie shop on KauaŹ»i. We get to see our regulars, meet visitors from all over, hear where youā€™re taking your pies, and sometimes watch someone take that first bite of a flavor theyā€™ve never tried before. Those little moments are a big part of why we love what we do.

So before September completely disappears, we just want to say mahalo to everyone who stopped in, ordered a pie, grabbed a slice, told a friend about us, shared one of our posts, or simply said hello. You keep our ovens busy, and weā€™re very grateful for it.

Today is National Key Lime Pie Day, and here on KauaŹ»i, we have our own delicious way to celebrate Island Lime Pie!

Our Island Lime Pie has a smooth, curd-like filling with just the right amount of tartness bright and refreshing without being too sour. Itā€™s one of those pies where that little citrus zing keeps you coming back for another bite.
