🔥 The History of BBQ 🔥
Welcome back to Yo Sun You Taste This with your host King Delph.
A lot of people think barbecue started in the American South, but the roots actually go back thousands of years. Historians say Ancient Egyptians were some of the first to slow-cook meat like lamb and goat over open fire pits.
Later in the Caribbean, indigenous tribes used a wooden frame called barbacoa to cook meat over smoke — and that word eventually became barbecue.
Today BBQ is a global tradition found everywhere from Texas and the Carolinas to Korea and Argentina.
Different cultures… different flavors… but the same love for fire, smoke, and great food.
