Always willing to learn and grow to be the best he can be. That is Chef Dallas! Here he is at the arboretum at Penn state university… learning!!!

Earlier this week, we shared some exciting news: Chef Dallas has advanced in the national Favorite Chef competition and is now one step closer to a $25,000 grand prize! He is currently 5th in his bracket. He needs to remain in the top 15 by Thursday to move on!!

Today, we’re asking for your support.

A win would not only be an incredible achievement for Chef Dallas and Balance Restaurant, but it would also bring positive attention to Johnstown and help support important community initiatives right here at home.

Balance followers… we have some very exciting news!!

Several months ago I nominated Dallas for a competition for Favorite Chef. This is a national competition… Dallas was accepted into the competition and now has advanced to the second round. We need your help! With your help, we could win $25,000… but when asked how he would use the money, here is what he said!

What would you do with the $25,000?
I plan to use it as a catalyst for what I’m calling a Circle of Support. My family, business, community! A portion will go towards myself and my wife’s immediate needs to ensure we have the security to continue pouring all the energy we have into Balance Restaurant. Next, we will invest into the restaurant directly to secure the livelihoods of our staff. Finally, we will work with our local foundation to ensure we are investing in an area that our Johnstown community needs most.

The foundation we will be donating to if he would win is the 1889 Foundation. Donations to the 1889 Foundation’s Childhood Development Fund support programs that help children and families thrive, including weekend meal programs, safe and enriching after-school activities, youth wellness initiatives, and community-based efforts that improve access to healthy food and supportive resources.

Let’s bring this money to Johnstown and put Johnstown on the culinary map… not just for us, but all of the amazing chefs in Johnstown.
