The annual Peach Blossom Festival originated in 1947 and occurs on the first Saturday of May. The event draws in thousands of vendors and attendees. Johnston wants to build a YMCA for its citizens. The Edgefield County Water & Sewer Authority is aware of a water leak in the Town of Johnston at their water tank on Edisto Street. There will be a noticeable amount of water on several areas near the Edisto Street water tank. Thank you for your patience as this problem is repaired.

Ribbon cutting ceremony for The Town of Johnston's Fine Arts Center.

Come join in this soft opening event at 11:00 AM today on Calhoun Street. The location is at the downtown cotton warehouse located next to the town parking lot.

Also, coming soon is the grand opening of the Fine Arts Center on September 19th (10 am - 4 pm) & 20th (1 pm - 4 pm). There will be various artists from the surrounding areas displaying their artistic talents. Contact Tonya Guy at the Johnston Genealogical Center if you would like to participate or for more information about this event.

Local artists Lorenzo Williams(paintings) and Justin Guy(potter) will be participating in the grand opening, showcasing their talented works of art at the September grand opening.
