Making a splash for Hayden & Blakely’s 6th birthday!

I had so much fun bringing this pool party cake to life—from the oversized beach ball and sculpted splashes to all those bright little summertime details.

The perfect cake for squeezing in a little more summer before it slips away!

Happy 6th Birthday, Hayden & Blakely!

All aboard!

This railroad-themed birthday cake might be one of my favorite little scenes lately. A train coming through the tunnel, tracks, rocky hillsides, tiny trees, and enough warning signs to make you question whether this birthday party is OSHA approved.

I love when a cake becomes more than just a cake and turns into an entire little world.

Retirement plans: TAILGATE.

I was ridiculously excited when this one came in because I LOVE making vehicle cakes and this one gave me an excuse to take it a little further.

A fully sculpted tailgate truck complete with the grill, burgers & hot dogs, bar, TV, canopy… working lights AND actual smoke coming from the grill.

Because apparently just making the truck out of cake wasn’t enough.

Such a fun cake to create for a retirement party. Happy retirement here’s to plenty of tailgating ahead!

“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” — Dolly Parton

Of all the things Dolly gave the world-her music, her humor, her generosity, and that unmistakable sparkle—this has always been my favorite quote of hers.

A while back, I turned her banana cake mix into cake… box, spilled mix and all. Today felt like the right day to share it again.

In honor of a woman who spent a lifetime showing us exactly what it looks like to know who you are and do it on purpose.

Rest easy, Dolly.

Pick up your favorite Dolly Parton mix and bake something to enjoy in her honor.

🎡 100 YEARS of the Appalachian Fair 🎡

What better way to celebrate than with all the best fair foods…in CAKE!

Funnel cake, candy apple, corn dog, popcorn, lemonade, topped with a giant blue ribbon celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Appalachian Fair!

It was such an honor getting to create this piece for a milestone this special.

Up next I’ll be judging the cake competition at 5:00! If you’re at the fair today, stop by the Farm & Home Building to see this cake on display and stick around after the judging because we’ll be cutting it and handing out slices!

Happy 100th Anniversary, Appalachian Fair!

Wildly cool.

This reptile-inspired birthday cake brought the whole habitat to the dessert table, complete with rocky terrain, a snake winding its way around the tiers, and some colorful salamanders.

Happy 7th Birthday, Bryce!

Timmy Norman | Cake Artist & Owner of Cakebuds
Timmy Norman is an award-winning cake artist and owner of Cakebuds, a custom cake studio based in Northeast Tennessee. A former graphic designer turned self-taught cake artist, Timmy has spent more than a decade transforming cake into everything from larger-than-life sculptures to hyper-realistic creations that have earned him national recognition.
Timmy was a finalist on Season 3 of Netflix’s Is It Cake? and has competed on and won multiple Food Network programs, including Food Network Challenge, Big Time Bake, and The Big Bake. Most recently, he was part of the winning team on Food Network’s Super Mega Cakes, creating massive edible works of art on a scale rarely seen in cake.
Despite opportunities to create cakes for national television, celebrities, major brands, and events across the country, Timmy remains deeply connected to his East Tennessee roots. For several years, he has had the privilege of serving as a judge for the cake competition at the Appalachian Fair.
This year, that relationship takes on an especially meaningful role as Timmy returns to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Appalachian Fair by creating a one-of-a-kind commemorative cake honoring a century of agriculture, entertainment, competition, community, and Appalachian tradition.
For Timmy, the project brings together two things that have shaped much of his career: the creativity of cake and the community he is proud to call home.

A classic blue toile design, delicate pearl details, and one BIG bow for a very special 16th birthday. There’s just something about this soft blue and white combination that I’ll never get tired of.

Dispatch, we have a retirement!

A whole lineup of edible police radios to celebrate a dispatcher officially signing off and heading into retirement!

I loved making these little handheld radio cakes, each one individually made to look like the radios used every day on the job. A pretty fitting way to celebrate someone who spent their career being the voice behind the radio.

Congratulations on your retirement, and thank you for your years of service to your officers and community!

10-42… Out of service. One last time.
