Amidst all the rhetoric and controversy, I am still proud to be an American and thankful that my Dad took the enourmous risks he endured to get us here.
On this start of Thanksgiving day weekend I am grateful and give thanks to my parents and all my extended family for their sacrifice.

I wanted to take this day to honor our veterans and active military members
worldwide.
But specifically I want to honor two wonderful men I know personally.

Pictured on the right is my father in law Sgt. Frank LoPiccolo who was a
crew member on a B29 Super Fortress in the south Pacific. He and his crew
flew over Japan and other targets in 20 plus missions and at the end of the
war they were part of the grand armada that amassed on orders of General
Douglas Mc Arthur and flew over the surrender of Japanese forces on the USS
Iowa in Tokyo bay.
On the left is LT. Colonel ( ret) Thomas Robert Vaucher. He flew numerous
combat missions in several theaters, tested and piloted the famous B29
Flying Fortress from 1941-1946 Pacific Theater and commanded and led the 500
plus plane armada that flew over the USS Missouri when the Japanese
surrendered.
They just met for the first time this year.
Two great men, among many who sacrificed their youth And their lives for our great country.
Freedom and democracy don’t come cheap.
Thank you for your great service gentlemen! I am very proud to know you.
