Thank you for inviting me to share Bwana’s story. I’ve always had a passion for food. My mother was an amazing cook; she could make a meal out of anything! 19 years ago she lost her battle to cancer and ever since then she has been a pure inspiration. After losing her, I felt like I had lost my sense of home. With the support of my friends and family, I opened my sweet little café, and have once again found my home. Every one of my customers is amazing and has made an impact on me. They are the most humble, real, down to earth people you will ever meet. Each and every day they give me strength and hope that there are still huge hearted people in the world. It’s funny how they can come in as complete strangers, and leave as my friends. I honestly don’t view them as customers, but my friends and family. After all the crap and silliness that I deal out to them, they have come to not only expect it, but enjoy it. I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for the amazing people that come into my café. I also have to give a huge thanks to my team! They are all super hard working, and supportive. They feel the same passion to reach out and make an impact that I do. Every restaurant owner is in it for the business; we’d be lying if we said we weren’t. But money is nothing compared to the dream of wanting to touch people’s lives. When people come into my café, I want them to feel as if they are coming home, like they are welcome and part of the family. I want them to make memories, and share experiences just like they would in their momma’s kitchen. Thank you once again for letting me share the story of Bwana’s. Happy trails and hope to see y’all soon!
