Week 2: Underground Worlds (Bugs, root systems, caves, and underground tunnels)
Week 3: Unearthing Nature (Planting seeds, gardening, flowers, and backyard wildlife)
Week 4: Buried Treasures (Pirates, lost cities, gold, or finding something special)
Week 5: Uncovering History (Ancient Egypt/mummies, castles, or old family stories)
Week 6: Digging for Clues (Mystery, animal detectives, or looking for hidden objects)

DEADLINE EXTENDED!! We are extending the deadline to Wednesday June 17th an Noon. Please pick up your free supplies and guidelines at Tan-A-Latte now! Guidelines are also listed in the post. WE HAVE SO MANY FABULOUS 😍 SUBMISSIONS FROM KIDS ALREADY AND ARE BEYOND EXCITED TO SHARE THEM WITH THE COMMUNITY!!!

Kids ages 5-18 are eligible to participate in the Kids Jefferson Plein Air contest. Artwork will be judged in age groups 5-9, 10-14 and 15-18

· Starting Thursday June 4th, kids may pick up their art supplies at Tan A Latte (122 S Main St). Each student will receive one 8 1/2" X 11" art paper and choice of assorted colored pencils or washable markers. (Kids may return for one more art paper but only one may be submitted for judging.)

· You must use the colored pencils or markers provided. No other materials may be used in completing the artwork.

· In the spirit of plein air (painting outdoors), drawings must be completed outdoors of a subject observed while outdoors, just like the adult artists participating in the Jefferson Plein Air.

· The kids' art will be on display throughout downtown Jefferson businesses until the end of June.

· To enter your artwork, complete the information in the label on the back of the art paper and drop off finished paintings at Tan A Latte no later than 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Include your name, address, age, parent's name, contact phone number

· Results of judging in the age groups will be announced at the Jefferson Plein Air Reception on Friday, June 19th and at the Arts Alliance of Greater Jefferson booth at the Best Dam Art Fair on Saturday, June 19th.

· Winning students will be notified by AAGJ and where to pick up their prize.
