Update to the previous post… ☀️

We finally made it home from the hospital. Thankfully, all of my dad’s scans came back looking good, but we still don’t have answers as to what’s causing these episodes. We suspect it may be related to the chemo, but we’re not certain yet. The journey continues.

For now, he’s home, tucked into bed, my mom is making him some breakfast, and his in-home nurse will be stopping by later to check on him. We’re incredibly grateful for all of the prayers, messages, and support you’ve shown our family. It truly means the world to us.

With that being said… I left the hospital thinking I’d be completely exhausted, but somehow now I’m wide awake. 🫠 So, the cafe WILL be opening after all!

Come keep me company and help me stay awake so I can actually go to bed early tonight. lol

Good morning ☀️

Unfortunately, Café Piña will be closed today.

I’ve been at the hospital with my dad since midnight and haven’t gotten any sleep. Sadly, I don’t have anyone available to cover the kitchen, so I need to take the day to be with him.

My dad has been experiencing reactions to his chemotherapy that have caused his airways to shut, making it difficult for him to breathe. Thankfully, things are under control at the moment, but the doctors are still working to determine exactly what’s causing these reactions.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support during this time.

Thank you all so much, and we’ll see you tomorrow from 8:00 AM–1:00 PM.
