Basket full of wild grapes need to be cleaned and then I think I will put them in the freezer till I can get a few more and then might try my hand at making jelly. It has been years and years since I last did that. SIL is going to be staying over tonight and I did not get the boards sawed. They are all measured and marked. He is also on his own for dinner, for got to get something out to cook. Might be frozen burritos.

Started outside, was going to measure, mark and saw boards for the coop 3 skirting. Limited by left over parts of crate. 2 inches short, search for more pallet parts lead to finding BIG spider in garage and a lot of cob webs. Found bug spray and tool I use to remove cobwebs. That chore lead me to finding a hornets nest. Leave it be. Cart I use for bringing in wood is needing repairs, thought I would tackle that. Wheel fixed. Need to replace back board. After 1 hour of trying to tare it apart because screws are rusted and have wedged their way into wood, I quit. While trying to do that I was looking for tools that might help. Have left tool box outside (it is metal) and when I opened it, it had an inch of water. Now I have tools to clean. Laid them out to dry. Thought I would work on another redneck outdoor chicken feeder, jig saw blade broke, searched for spares, not found. Blazer is repaired and I need to take it in for inspection, decided to clean in out, sweep out the floor and dust things, found another hornets nest. End of that idea. Thought I would mow, out of gas except 5 gallon can, I can not pick that can up and pour gas into that little hole without wasting a lot of fuel! Along with all of this I caught egg eating hen in the act. Enough of that, hoe some weeds; handle broke. When it started getting dark I found the Wasp & Hornet spray and yes, they got it!

Got up this morning and was greeted by a huge black garden spider in the dishpan. Turned on the water and drowned the thing. SIL was here, he wasn't much help. Kara starts first grade tomorrow and her visits will be few and far between now. Need to do some mending, hand sewing; now I just need to find my glasses...and the thing that helps me thread the needle. I use to enjoy sewing, now I need a lot of prepping.

Feel like I have lost my humor somewhere. Last night we had a road board meeting and a disgruntled visiting citizen. We finally got a bill for the repairs to the grader, almost $8,000. The visiting citizen wanted to know why we had not graded a mostly dirt road that he uses and is rutted up from use when very wet. Still wet, won't do any good to try to grade until it dries and he should know this! Gave him my cell number and have not heard from him. I live on one of the worst gravel roads in our township and for the last year it has been in the best shape that I can ever remember. I think our operator is doing a very good job and I am glad he is not related to any of the other residents. Which has been an issue before. Good meeting and we set a date for our tax levy meeting, we just need paperwork from the county.

A lot of rain = a lot of mud. I'm not sure what I'll be doing today. More weeding would be the best idea, easier to pull up when ground is wet. So far I have been dumping water and cleaning up muddy messes. Didn't expect it to rain so had a few things out that should not have been and things right side up that should have been up side down. All the tubs I have sitting around to catch rain water are full and all the plants seem to have grown, grass included. Must have had some strong wind too, walnuts fell from the trees. Sounds like yard work.

More rain overnight and this morning, 2 inches worth. It was needed. SIL made it to work; he had a traffic court appearance early in St. Joseph and had to get to Trenton from there before noon. I'd say God blessed him, the court could have caused him to be late to work and thus breaking a probationary rule and he could have been fired.

Have vinyl siding to complete 3 sides, we are discussing what to do with the front. The front side has the door and nesting boxes so it is chopped up.

Materials left to work with, have to take apart and reassemble. Don't think I have enough. Will start on this Monday.

This side needs to look like the other side but without the little door.
