10 ways I infuse a little # into my everyday life
1. Every morning, I stir my coffee clockwise for good energy and positivity. Sometimes I set an intention for the day, sometimes I don’t. I also add cinnamon for protection. I’ve done it for so long that it’s just part of making coffee now.
2. I love my plants. I’m definitely not a green witch—I don’t think my plants would even endorse that statement—but I do enjoy taking care of them. Some are doing better than others.
3. I collect rocks and crystals. It might be witchiness, or it might be the tism, but there’s something about a cool rock. I’ll be walking somewhere, see one, and suddenly I have to pick it up. I don’t need it. I have plenty of rocks at home. But this one is different. I couldn’t tell you how. It just is.
4. I’ve always felt a strong connection to animals, especially cats, which is unfortunate because I’m so allergic to them I could die. I do, however, have an absurd number of chickens I can cuddle, and I absolutely do. I sit with them, hold them, and talk to them. I don’t think they have any idea what I’m saying, but that hasn’t stopped either of us.
5. I mix my own herbal teas for health, relaxation, or whatever else I seem to need that day. I love learning what different herbs are traditionally used for. There’s something comforting about making yourself a cup of tea with a specific purpose, even if that purpose is just getting through the afternoon.
6. I collect bones and feathers. My collection includes multiple horse skulls, one of which has a jaw spray-painted gold. I don’t know who made that decision or what their vision was, but it’s here now. I also love finding feathers and little bones outside.
7. I pull tarot cards. Sometimes I have a question, and sometimes I just want a little guidance or something to think about. I don’t need an answer to everything. Sometimes I just want to look at something from a different perspective.
8. I use water to wash away negative energy. In the shower, I imagine whatever’s bothering me rinsing off and going down the drain. I’ll also wash my hands when I’m in a bad mood, with the intention of getting rid of whatever I’m carrying around. Sometimes I have to do this more than once.
9. I meditate, practice grounding and breathing techniques, and sometimes visualize myself charging like a battery. I picture my energy coming back into me and filling me up again. I also hug my husband and kids while intentionally sending them love, protection, and good energy. They don’t know I’m doing it. I’m just hugging them.
10. I bless the food I make. When I’m cooking or baking, I put good intentions into it and wish good things for whoever’s going to eat it. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Sometimes I’m just standing in the kitchen kneading bread and thinking about the people who are going to eat it.
