Social Grounds Coffee Roasters is seeking an experienced Coffee Shop Manager to lead our team and operations.
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on manager who can balance the administrative demands of running a busy coffee shop with the leadership skills to inspire and develop our team. This role requires someone who thrives on organization, takes pride in quality, and has a passion for coffee and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
📋 Administrative Excellence
• Manage inventory ordering and supplier relationships
• Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage
• Oversee daily operations with meticulous attention to detail
• Monitor costs, waste, and operational efficiency
• Handle bookkeeping, reporting, and compliance requirements
👥 Leadership & Team Development
• Lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced environment
• Foster a positive workplace culture focused on quality and customer service
• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Handle staffing decisions including hiring and disciplinary actions
☕ Training & Quality Control
• Train baristas in proper espresso techniques, drink preparation, and customer service
• Maintain high standards for beverage quality and consistency
• Develop training materials and standard operating procedures
• Lead by example during shifts, working alongside the team
✅ Required Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of barista experience with advanced espresso and milk steaming skills
• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage schedules, inventory, and ordering systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with POS systems and inventory management software
• Knowledge of specialty coffee (origin, roasting, brewing methods)
• Prior experience training and developing staff
