I gave a brother in the Lord a bag of Morning Oil Coffee to try, and he sent me back some pictures and his thoughts.

“Coffee came out bold, lots of flavor. For some, they might love it like this. For me, it’s leaning towards dark roast. It’s not the bean, the bean is delicious. It’s the preparation. I need to either use hotter water or less bean. Right now I am 20 grams of beans to 300 ml.”

That’s the beauty of coffee! Every bean is different, and sometimes it takes a little fine tuning to find that perfect cup.

But coffee is so much more than a cherry growing on a tree, roasted, ground, and brewed into a cup.

It’s about bringing people together, building relationships, sharing stories, and enjoying fellowship. Sometimes God uses something as simple as a cup of coffee to create meaningful connections.

“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Praise God for the simple things that bring us together!

It’s more than coffee. It’s faith, fellowship, and the people we share it with.

Got to sit down and have coffee with Jessie Spradley from the Northeast Florida Builders Association this morning.

Really enjoyed getting to know Jessie, hearing about his family, and talking about the skilled trades, workforce development, and what we can do together to create more opportunities for the people who build Northeast Florida.

I also got to hear more about NEFBA’s training school and what they’re building for the next generation. What they’re doing is absolutely amazing. Giving people a real path into the trades, developing skilled workers, and helping build careers that can change families for generations.

We also talked about coffee and some ways Morning Oil and NEFBA can work together to support the trades and the men and women who keep our community moving.

Good coffee. Great conversation. Even better mission.

Excited about what’s ahead.

FROM NAVY VETERAN TO BUILDING A MOVEMENT IN JACKSONVILLE. 🇺🇸🎙️

Episode 9 of the Morning Oil Podcast is officially LIVE!

This week, we bring you the story of Randall Thomas, a U.S. Navy veteran who turned conversations, connections, and a desire to serve into something making a real impact across Jacksonville.

Randall shares his military journey, the challenges of finding purpose after service, and how starting a podcast eventually opened doors he never expected.

Those conversations grew into relationships. Those relationships created opportunities. And eventually, they helped launch the PB and Jax Foundation.

We also hear the incredible story of Imogene Wootson and how Randall helped bring local businesses together to provide her with a life changing new roof.

This episode is about veterans, purpose, community, entrepreneurship, nonprofits, storytelling, and what can happen when people come together to serve others.
