San Marco Preservation Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and this past Wednesday, Aug 19, they hosted their Anniversary Speaker Series event, "Resilience & Sustainability in San Marco," at San Marco Preservation Hall. Before there was a San Marco Dreamette, there was a music teacher. Brian Roes moved to Jacksonville from Rochester, NY in 2005 to teach music at Riverside Presbyterian Day School — and it was a co-worker there who first introduced him to the original Murray Hill Dreamette. Funny how one introduction to a neighborhood ice cream stand can turn into a family's whole second chapter. 🎶🍦
