Well, the storm on Sunday night did a number on our sign. Mackenzie came in Monday morning to open up the store and found the sign blow apart. Emma found the sign inserts down the block and brought them back to the store.

Our corner sign has been on our building for over 80 years. For those who don't know, J-Co's building is over 150 years old. Almost as old as the owner. 🤣

We called Johnson Sign Co., and they came out that morning and assessed the damage. We thought for sure this was going to be a big bill for a new sign. Upon inspecting they said that they could rebuild it and keep the existing sign because the inserts were still usable. While they could have upsold us a new sign, they cut corners and put the old back together. They assembled it, put in a new ballast, new bulbs, new sockets, and now we have a sign that will last our next 20 years.

That sign has been a symbol of Jackson Coffee Co for 20 years. We are so glad it was salvageable. We were not sure the city would authorize a new one if we had to replace it. (They do own the sidewalk, and one has to get permission, but they have been good to work with in our time downtown).

A big thank you to Johnson Sign Co. for being quick to act and for helping us save a piece of our history.
