We’re back with another Meet the Staff! Today we’re talking to a beloved employee who has become a role model for our front of house staff, Hans Uecker.

Q: Where are you from?
A: Vegas, originally.

Q: How long have you lived in Jackson?
A: Almost 20 years.

Q: What is your role at Local?
A: Server. *Aren’t you forgetting something?!* Oh, I’m the lead server.

Q: What is your favorite dish on the menu right now?
A: Favorite dish would have to be the bison Wellington. It’s been on the menu since I’ve been here. And I’ve been here since 2020…so almost 7 years.

Q: Winter or Summer?
A: Summer.

Q: What is your favorite Summer activity?
A: Backpacking and fishing.

Q: What is the first dish you remember loving?
A: My Grandma’s spaghetti.

Q: What is your go-to dish to make at home?
A: Hmm, birria tacos.

Q: Favorite movie?
A: Favorite movie off the dome? The Big Lebowski.

Q: What is one thing you always keep in your fridge at home?
A: Ketchup?

Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
A: You’re only in the weeds if you give a s**t.

A: Izmir, Turkey.

A: 4 years.

Q: What is your role at Local?
A: Manager and server.

Q: What is your favorite dish on the menu right now?
A: *blows raspberries* That’s a tough one…bone marrow.

Q: Winter or Summer?
A: I prefer Summer.

Q: What is your favorite Summer activity?
A: Hiking and camping mostly.

Q: What is the first dish you remember loving?
A: Oooh…I loved the chicken pesto pasta that my mom would make.

Q: What is your go-to dish to make at home?
A: *laughs* Pasta again…with tuna!

Q: Favorite movie?
A: The Prestige.

Q: What is one thing you always keep in your fridge at home?
A: Zero sugar white Monsters.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
A: I used to sleep a lot when I was a kid, then one day my dad told me “you’ll sleep when you’re dead.” So now I wake up early every day!

A: *Blows raspberries* It’s been 9 years..or 10 years?

Q: What is your role at Local?
A: Assistant General Manager.

Q: What is your favorite dish on the menu right now?
A: The duck salad.

Q: Winter or Summer?
A: Summer.

Q: What is your favorite Summer activity?
A: Backpacking and hiking, and just literally chilling on the river!

Q: What is the first dish you remember loving?
A: Well, aji de gallina. A Peruvian dish from my Mom. It’s hard to describe…but a shredded chicken dish with yellow chili paste sauce. Oh it’s so good…I’m just thinking about it now and I’m hungry!

Q: What is your go-to dish to make at home?
A: A Peruvian chicken stew.

Q: Favorite movie?
A: Shrek 2. Or Mamma Mia. Or Devil Wears Prada…or Lord of the Rings (all three of them).

Q: What is one thing you always keep in your fridge at home?
A: Kalamata olives. I love them!

Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
A: My dad always said to me, take care of your heart because not everyone is just like you.
