💚 UPDATE FOR DENNY & HIS FAMILY! 💚

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Denny’s golf cart is PAID FOR! ✅🙌

But we’re not stopping there.

We’re keeping donations open through Friday so we can send Denny and his family home with a check to help take some of the financial burden off their shoulders.

Medical expenses are not cheap, and every extra dollar we raise can help this family focus a little less on the bills and a little more on what matters most. ❤️

WAYS TO DONATE:
• In store at Main Street Cycle
• Venmo: MSC2001
• PayPal: [email protected]

The golf cart is covered. ✅
Now let’s see how big of a check we can send them home with! 💚

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, prayed, and supported Denny and his family. This community is something special!

Tishomingo County!!!! Y’all never cease to amaze us! ❤️

We haven’t even had our post up very long, and already we have over $1,000 worth of donations toward getting Mr. Denny and his family a golf cart!

For those who may not know the story, Denny worked for the Tishomingo County Electric Power Association. Back in January, when our area was hit by the devastating ice storm, Denny was out working to help restore power to our homes when he was seriously injured.

He has spent the past several months receiving the care he desperately needs. He is now a double amputee and has a brain injury, and his journey is far from over. His life—and the lives of his family members—will forever be changed.

A golf cart may not seem like much in times like these, but we believe it will make a huge difference for Denny and his family. It will give him a little more independence, make getting around easier, and, hopefully, bring him some joy by allowing him to get outside, enjoy some fresh air, and spend time with his family.

Tishomingo County, you are already showing just how incredible this community is.Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, prayed, or simply taken the time to support this family. ❤️

If you’re able to donate, every single dollar helps us get Denny one step closer to having a golf cart of his own.

Let’s show Denny and his family that they are not alone! ❤️🙏

Welcome home Denny 🙏❤️🙌✝️

“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

On January 29, Tishomingo County, Mississippi was covered in ice.

Denny McGuff put on his gear and went to work.

That is what linemen do. While everyone else stays inside and waits for the power to come back on, linemen go out into the storm and bring it back. Denny was an employee of the Tishomingo County Electric Power Association, and his community needed him.

While he was out there working to restore power to the homes around him, something went wrong.

Denny was electrocuted.

He was airlifted to UAB in Birmingham in critical condition. Doctors amputated his left arm. Then, as surgeons continued working to save him, they had to make another devastating decision.

His remaining hand was amputated too.

He went through at least eight surgeries. For weeks he was not fully responsive. His community in Iuka held prayer vigils for him. His family friend Kristy started a GoFundMe because that is what you do when someone who has always done everything for everyone suddenly cannot do anything for themselves.

"Anyone that knows the McGuffs knows that they do anything for anybody," she wrote.

Denny fought.

He went to Shepherd Center, one of the nation's leading rehabilitation hospitals for catastrophic injuries. Then he transferred to Pathways for the next phase of his recovery. He kept going when most people could not have imagined what going even meant anymore.

And tonight, six months after an ice storm and a power line changed everything, Denny McGuff officially graduated from Pathways.

He is showered. He is in bed watching a movie. His bags are not even packed yet for the 9 a.m. departure tomorrow morning.

He is going home to Iuka.

His family also wants the world to know about Brandi, his case manager in Georgia. They say she treated them like family, made sure everything Denny needed was taken care of, and never made the process feel like a transaction. In a system that often does exactly that, she was the exception.

Denny McGuff went out in an ice storm to restore power for his neighbors.

He lost both his hands doing it.

And tomorrow morning, he is going home.

Please share this so Iuka knows their lineman is on his way back.
