Thank you Alliance Communications!

Inwood Summer Rec is a recent recipient of an Alliance Keep the Change grant, and they’re putting the funds toward a new building for equipment storage.

The new space will give the program a dedicated place to safely store the equipment that helps keep kids active and having fun all summer long. Their goal is to have the building completed by Spring 2027!

We love seeing Keep the Change dollars support projects that benefit local kids, families and communities.

Thank you to our Alliance members who round up their bills each month. Your spare change really does add up!

HAPPY SHOP IOWA DAY!

Today, October 14, is Shop Iowa Day, and we're celebrating the small businesses that make our communities so special!

Shopping local makes a BIG difference! Whether you're grabbing a bite to eat, grabbing a coffee, picking up a gift, or supporting a local service, every dollar spent locally helps strengthen our community.

Our local businesses do more than provide goods and services. They're the ones sponsoring community events, donating to local fundraisers, supporting our schools and youth activities, and stepping up when our community needs them. When we support them, we're helping them continue to support Inwood!

We have so many awesome local businesses right here in Inwood! Check them out here: 👇

Inwood Pool Improvement Update:

Our Inwood Swimming Pool recently received some much-needed TLC!

Crews completed repairs to cracks, resealed expansion joints and areas around the pool jets, concrete patching, and applied a fresh coat of paint to give the pool a refreshed look!

These improvements are about more than appearances!

Some of the aging joints may have been allowing water to escape, meaning the pool could have been using more water than necessary. By making these repairs, we're not only helping extend the life of our pool, but also taking steps to reduce potential water waste.

It's these behind-the-scenes improvements that help keep our facilities in good shape for years to come! Our pool is ready for next season!

A big thank you to our City crew, Jamie and Troy, for helping coordinate this project and seeing it through!

🌟 Inwood Club Spotlight: Country Kids 4-H Club 🌟

National 4-H week is Oct 4-11, 2026. What we know as 4-H today first started in Lyon County in the 1920's. 4-H in Inwood has an especially long history as The Baby Beevs was the first club to be formed in Lyon County focusing on beef. In the 1960's 4-H clubs were started according to townships therefore the Richland Busy Bees was formed. Another well known club was the Inwood Energetics. There have been many changes in Lyon County 4-H over the years and today the Inwood 4-H Club is known as the Country Kids.

Country Kids 4‑H Club in Inwood shines as it is energetic and welcoming to the youth, guided by the dedicated leadership of Cheryl Blankespoor and Stacie Eckardt. Meeting monthly in Inwood, the club offers hands‑on learning, leadership growth, and plenty of fun for kids eager to explore new project areas and make lasting friendships. Cheryl and Stacie bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep commitment to helping youth "make the best better," creating a supportive environment where every member can learn, lead, and thrive.

You can find more information on joining 4-H here: https://www.extension.iastate.edu/lyon/join-4-h
