Once a bustling rail town with a population of more than 1,500, Ingersoll, Oklahoma was known as a "sinful" town boasting seven licensed saloons and two pool halls. Now more than a century later, the rail stop and saloons are long gone; but there is still one sinful pleasure to be found in Ingersoll - the BBQ. Owner/operator Debra Engle opened the Smok-Shak in 1985. The oil field bust had left her with an old Pizza Hut building and a plot of land in a little ole ghost town on Highway 64. Looking for a way to make ends meet, Debbie decided to relocate the old building to Ingersoll and open a BBQ joint. With a little luck - and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears - she did just that. Now almost 30 years later the Smok-Shak is still serving up the finger-lickin' BBQ that our customers have come to know and love. Debbie still runs the restaurant. Our specialties are: Totally Home Cooking, Catering, Smoked Meats, Sandwiches, Dinners, Side Orders, Salads, Lunch, Dinner, Kids Meals, Dine In, Beverages, Carry Out & Take-Out. Our local customers like our Steak Night on Wednesday, Country Fried Steak dinner on Fridays and our ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Smoked Ribs on Sunday. You can call us TOLL-FREE: (888) 486-0686 for Carry Out and/or Take-Out. Our mailing address is: PO Box 203, Cherokee, OK 73728
