Our hearts are incredibly heavy as our community mourns the tragic loss of an another young life.

There are simply no words that can ease the pain this family, their friends, classmates, neighbors, first responders and loved ones are carrying right now. From all of us at Maximillion’s Muddy Puddles Foundation, we extend our deepest condolences and are holding everyone who loved this young man close in our hearts.

In the coming days, we want his family to be able to look around our community and see just how many people are standing beside them.

🖤 We are asking our community to flood Indianola with black ribbons in his memory and in support of his family.

Black ribbons are free and will be available for pickup at Muddy Puddles Ice and Pete's Pizza tomorrow (Tuesday the 29th) Take one and tie it around a tree, light pole, mailbox, fence, or somewhere visible at your home or business.

May every black ribbon be a quiet message to this family: You are loved. You are surrounded. You are not walking through this grief alone.

It's spreading in an Indianola ice cream shop.
Muddy Puddles Ice Cream is a shop dedicated to Maximillion, a four year old boy who loved Peppa Pig, jumping in muddy puddles (always in his blue rain boots!), and of course — ice cream — strawberry with gummy bears and sprinkles, to be exact.
The shop is a 'next chapter' in the lives of a mom and dad who are sharing their story in our new This is Iowa special.

We have grown our followers quite a bit since we first opened 11 months ago. For those of you that don't know our story or need a refresher, we thought it might be time to share again.

🌈 At Muddy Puddles Ice Cream, every scoop has a story. 💖

Our business was inspired by the joy and laughter of our son, Maximillion. He loved Peppa Pig, jumping in muddy puddles (always in his blue rain boots!), and of course — ice cream — strawberry with gummy bears and sprinkles, to be exact.

After losing him tragically a little over four years ago, we wanted to find a way to honor his memory while spreading the same love, laughter, and sense of community he brought into our lives — and to so many others — during his short four years.

In addition to our ice cream business, we have created a 501c(3) foundation.

Through Maximillion's Muddy Puddles, we’re giving back to our community by raising funds to build the Indianola Children’s Memorial Splash Pad — a joyful place where families can laugh, play, and make memories together.
