Hi everyone!!

Not a ton to talk about today. This is our last weekend off from Market Season!! The Carmel Farmer's Market Winter Market opens THIS coming Saturday, October 17 - HOWEVER - WE WILL NOT BE THERE THIS WEEKEND!!! We will be competing at the World Food Championships (more on that next) this weekend, we we'll be back at the market the following weekend - October 24th . We WILL be open at our shop at the AMP this Saturday, so if you just can't make it another week without us, you can always pick up here. We don't make as much on Saturday's during the off weekends, so you might want to pre-order (by Wednesday at 10am) if you want to get certain things. We do not make a ton of bread for the shop on Saturdays, so definitely order ahead to guarantee you get what you want.

World Food Championships! Once again, we'll be taking to the floor of the Indiana State Fairgrounds to compete and hopefully, defend our 2025 World Dessert title!! We have tested SOOOOO many recipes. I am really happy with our first round dish and our dish for the "Dessert Smash". I love our dish that we will do if we make the finals. Both of these are dishes that I will be making for the shop sometime after the competition.

I want to give another big thank you to our sponsors this year!! If you still want to help sponsor us to come to our demo, just let me know. For a sponsorship of $100 per person, we'll include you on our list of cool people and invite you to a demo after the competition next year and do a full run through of our dish/dishes and you'll be taking all the goodies home!! Thank you to our sponsors so far for this year:

This year at World Foods, we'll also be participating in an event after our dessert turn in called Dessert Smash - this is an opportunity for you to come, taste close to 40 desserts and pick your favorites!! The 6th and 7th spot moving on to the final round will be selected by a people's choice. The kick with this is, we have to make 250 samples, all out of our pocket!! Your sponsorship helps us spend some money to do something awesome! Again, I hope to make it in on the top 5 places in points, but just in case, come on out, try our dessert and give us those votes!! Here is the link for tickets! https://worldfoodchampionships.com/tickets

Monumental Chef Showdown- So excited that I was selected as one of 11 Indiana chefs to compete in the Inaugural "Monumental Chef Showdown"!! This is an amazing new competition that is a fundraiser for the Paramount Schools Junior Chef Program. The competition is a series of 8 dinners/events from November through March and at each event, one chef will be eliminated. What is awesome is that you can buy tickets to the events and vote for me as your People's Choice to help me in immunity!! Of course I hope to be moving on each event to the finals based on the judges' scores, but it never hurts!!! Here is a link to the website with all the info and where to get tickets. All of the events will be held at Connor Prairie. https://www.monumentalchef.com/

Carmel Winter Farmer's Market It is just amazing to me that it is time for the Winter Market to begin!!! As I mentioned, we won't be at opening day, but we will be back on Saturday, October 24th. We are working on our Holiday Menu for this year, so I'll have hard copies of that at the market on the 24th and I'll have it in my next weekly email for you. We'll of course be making Kringles, Pumpkin Rolls, Pumpkin Bread with Peptita Streusel and a side of Cranberry Butter ($10) and the Apple Pumpkin or Cranberry Pumpkin loaves ($6)!! We'll have the ½ pints of cranberry butter available too. As always, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PRE-ORDERING!! There isn't really a "back" of the booth at the winter market, but you can come over to the side of the booth to get your pre-order. Don't forget - pre-orders for Saturday are due by Wednesday at 10am. Things got a little out of hand toward the end of the summer about pre-orders coming in late. If you order late and do not get a confirmation from me, we could not accept your order.

Classes!! We have classes for the rest of the year posted!! Full descriptions of all classes are on the website. Classes that we still have spots in for are:
Thanksgiving pies - Tuesday, November 24
French macarons - 1 spot - Wednesday, December 16
Kids cookies with Santa, Saturday, December 19
Call the shop to sign up. Full description and pricing on the website. I don't keep the list with me, so don't email me about classes - call the shop to get a spot. I will be working on the January - March schedule soon. January will be limited due to my travel to France.

TRAVEL NEWS!! We are working with AMA Waterways on a Rhone River European River Cruise!! This will take place in August of 2027. We have the official flyer from AMA and it is awesome!! Roger and I will be your chef hosts and we are SO excited about this trip!! The trip will start in Arles and end in Lyon, which is my ALL TIME FAVORITE CITY IN FRANCE!!!!! If this sounds like something you might be interested in, let me know!! It is going to be AMAZING!!! We have already booked a small group of AWESOME people!! You should join us!!! There is still a great discount that is currently running through October - $2500 per couple!!!

I am also booking lots of other travel!! I can help you with cruises (Virgin, NCL, Viking, AMA Waterways, Royal Caribbean and more) and all-inclusive resorts. Shoot me an email to [email protected] if you are looking for a travel advisor - remember - this is a free service!! We'll be headed back down to the Caribbean with my dad and his wife in November and I'll be sharing all of our amazing experiences!!

ICE CREAM!! We still have some cookies and cream and Biscoff ice cream pints as well as lemon sorbet available ($12). These are only available IN the shop, not at the Carmel Market.

New/old wholesale client: We are back to baking for Milktooth!! They are opening early for coffee and pastries. You can find some of our muffins, scones and croissants there. We'll also be making their Cranberry Walnut bread again soon, so be on a look-out for that awesome sandwich!

Sweet friends!! If you can't make it to our shop, you can also find our pastries all around town. Here's a list of all the places carrying our products:

I first met Jane Knudson with her twin boys, Connor and Hunter, 20 years ago. They were just crawling around on a blanket behind their Viking Lamb booth at the Carmel Market. And today I saw Hunter and Connor in their tuxes for Connor and Gracie’s wedding!!! I feel so old!! They chose a vintage cake design for their almond cake, lemon bars and almond streusel bars. I also made a treat for the family - Scandinavian Kringlers. I’ve never made these before, but Jane sent me their family recipe. Congratulations Connor and Gracie!!!

Hi everyone!!

Well, that's a wrap on our 20th Farmer's Market season!! In 20 years, we have NEVER missed a Saturday summer market at Carmel. That's A LOT of Saturdays!! The first thing I want to do is to thank all of YOU as well as the AMAZING volunteers at the Carmel Market. The volunteers give us so much of their time to make sure that the Carmel Farmers Markets is the BEST Farmer's Market in the state!! In spite of SO MANY days of rain this year, this was our BEST season in those 20 years. I appreciate you all so much for your loyalty!! And the BIGGEST of thank you to Jenni Schouppe - she has been with me for 6 summers now and our booth wouldn't be the same without her!!!!

Winter Market - We WILL be back this summer at the Carmel Winter Market. The market opens on Saturday, October 17th, however we will NOT be at the first market as we'll be defending our title at the World Food Championships. We'll be back on Saturday, October 24th .
