Two years ago today, we went to sleep never imagining just how destructive Hurricane Helene would be to our home and our community.

In what felt like an instant, everything changed. It’s still hard to comprehend how something so devastating could happen so quickly. The destruction we woke up to was overwhelming, and the days that followed were some of the hardest we’ve ever experienced.

It took 26 days of nonstop, exhausting work just to get back to being semi-operational. But in the middle of so much devastation, we witnessed something truly beautiful—the strength of our community. Neighbors helping neighbors. Friends, family, and even strangers showing up for one another. People giving their time, energy, resources, and hearts when they were dealing with their own losses too.

Two years later, looking back at the photos and remembering those days still feels surreal. It’s hard to believe that this really happened—that our homes, our community, and our lives could change so dramatically overnight.

But we will also never forget the kindness, resilience, and incredible sense of community that carried us through.

September 26th, 2024, is a day we will never forget. ❤️

We rebuilt. We recovered. We came together. And we will always remember just how strong this community truly is.
