This is sad! I'm sure it will hurt a lot of businesses in downtown.

PARKING UPDATE (8.8.25): On behalf of the IFDDC Staff and Board of Directors, last night we formally requested that the Mayor and Idaho Falls City Council postpone the proposed on-street parking rates on its upcoming fee schedule hearing scheduled for Thursday evening, August 14.

This decision was made in response to the many concerns we have heard from downtown stakeholders. We believe it is crucial to pause and take additional time to engage with the business community, share more information, and facilitate more productive dialogue before moving forward.

The IFDDC is committed to working collaboratively with downtowners and the city to develop a parking solution that serves the best interests of our entire downtown community.

ORIGINAL POST: IFDDC to Implement New On-Street Paid Parking System

We're introducing a new paid on-street parking system within the Business Improvement District (BID), transitioning from the current two-hour free parking.

The new system, managed through the PARK SMARTER app, will be rolled out in two phases, with the first phase beginning in October 2025, barring unforeseen issues.
