Hey everyone! It's been a while since you've heard from us, and there's a good reason for it. This is the post every business owner hates to make, but the time has come to let everyone know that we're shutting down Lost River Smokehouse.
Last year, we had our inspection from the health department, and our inspector let us know about some new regulations that were put into place that, unfortunately, we simply don't have the resources or finances to keep up with. As much as we would love to continue serving our community, friends, and family, it's simply not an option for us anymore. We looked at it from every angle, did all of the math, and our current set-up with our truck would need a total overhaul to comply with the new rules, and it's simply not in our budget to do so.
We'd like to try again in the future, but for right now, Cody and I will be focusing on spending time with our family and going back to cooking as a hobby. Thank you everyone for your support over these last few years, every ounce of it has meant the world to us.
Thank you to Cody's family for being our biggest support network, whether it's been babysitting, hunting down supplies for us, or stepping into the truck and helping us serve on our busiest days. You are the entire reason we were able to do this in the first place, and it brought us so much joy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
And thank you to our customers and our community. Meeting new people and seeing them enjoy the food Cody has been so passionate about was one of the best parts about running a food truck. We appreciate every one of you.
Thanks for everything y'all :)
