Come to celebrate with us 🇱🇷
Barnstable is celebrating America’s 250th birthday with a full day of patriotic festivities on Saturday, July 4. The celebration begins with village parades in Barnstable-West Barnstable, Centerville, Cotuit, and Hyannis Port, each showcasing local pride, decorated floats, family activities, and plenty of red, white, and blue spirit. A festive boat parade will also make its way through Hyannis Harbor at 2:00 p.m., offering spectators along the waterfront a colorful display of decorated vessels.
The celebration continues throughout Hyannis with free family activities on the Village Green from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., live music and performers along Main Street from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., and a Hyannis Harbor Hawks baseball game at McKeon Park. Aselton Park will feature live entertainment from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., including performances by Get Shocked!, the Chowdaheads, the Howlin’ Clams featuring Trent Burritt, and Super Soulshine. Visitors can enjoy local food, vendors, children’s activities, live music, and waterfront views throughout the afternoon and evening.
The historic celebration will conclude at approximately 9:30 p.m. with a spectacular drone light show over Hyannis Harbor. Hundreds of synchronized drones will create approximately 22 illuminated images inspired by America’s 250th anniversary, Cape Cod’s maritime heritage, iconic landscapes, and treasured traditions. Recommended viewing locations include Aselton Park, McKeon Park, Bismore Park, and Harbor Overlook. Free and paid parking options are available throughout downtown Hyannis, and the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority will operate regular routes during the celebration.
