Celebrating the life of a legend this weekend. Susan B. Hayes was one of a kind. She worked for us at the for over 40 years! When John and I started dating and I first met her a little over 10 years ago, she became my source of infinite Old Cape Cod stories. I would sit with her and chat about her upbringing and the history of this beautiful island I call home. She was kind & funny and she genuinely loved serving others. It brought her such joy. When she stopped waiting tables a few years back, she became our “Coffee Ambassador” and she would be in the dining room greeting guests and serving a “mug to hug”. She was a fixture and she was family. What a beautiful life she led and we were so grateful to be asked to honor her this past weekend. She had a life to be celebrated. She will always be remembered and is deeply missed. ❤️

It is with a very heavy heart that we are letting you all know that one of our family members has passed on. Susan B Hayes (known as Sue, Sue B and Susie) passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

As we all knew, she was a not just a waitress, Susan was a fixture at the Gourmet Brunch and she was our family. For more than 40 years coming up to greet you while holding her mug of coffee, asking if "you would like a mug to hug" filled with coffee or a cocoa cafe. Susan would always talk about the food choices that were on the menu, and always made it a point to go through it from cover to cover, even if you had been coming to see us for years.

She had a way to make you feel that your day was going to be a great one. I always said "We bought the place and Susan came with it.” So many amazing stories…I could go on forever.

Susan you left a legacy with your family and with the Cape Cod community.
Rest in Peace my sweet angel 💔🙏❤️
You will forever be in our hearts and souls. Never forgotten.
