Closed today, to celebrate the union of Mr. & Mrs. Monnie King.

Eloping in a little chapel in Oklahoma is allowing us to make so many sweet memories. We are so honored to be part of their beautiful celebration!

I could not let the day go without making a little cake. I am gifting them the M&M Toppers to go with the Royalty Theme of the day.

My friend owns a travel business that plans bus tours all over the United States. Over the years, it had been a delight to make cookies for the traveling group as they roll through Hutchinson.

They are wrapping up their visit at the Cosmosphere and hitting the open road to explore more.

Everytime, the cookie order is different. This time, he requested a Chocolate Chip Cookie, with a Sunflower and 'Route 66' in the middle. I think I nailed the vision and as a sweet suprise, I used my Signature Cloud 9 Buttercream. You know they will forever remember where they had one of the best cookies ever!!

I am just finishing up a market at Hutchinson Hospital. I do have a few items still available. I will not be at the Farmer's Market tomorrow, since we are attending a Graduation Celebration for our granddaughter, so everything needs sold today.

I will be at the shop (1717 North Plum) 11 - 2 p.m. if you want to stop and grab some sweets! Call me if you want me to hold your item 620-694-9053. I will delete this post when sold out.

I am going to be baking late this evening, so I can participate in a Market tomorrow at Hutchinson Regional Hospital. It will be from 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in the basement. You are welcome to attend. I will have Cloud 9 Cookies, Monster Cookies, Banana Bread and Pineapple Upside Cake for sure.

I will keep the open light on to sell drinks until 9 p.m. I will also pre-sale any item as it is coming out of the oven!

Spread the word that I am keeping all SHAVED ICE on special for the month of May. Any size for $3. This has been popular to help me get established for my first year with the walk-up window.

Again, I low batched and even baked off the Cloud 9 Cookies at 4 a.m. I brought Mini-Banana Breads and Upside Down Pineapple Cakes.

Farmer's Market

7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Today was my first and I am already in full planning mode for what I should take next week!! Chime in and tell me what you want me to bake. You know Cloud 9 and Monster Cookies will always be offered, but I am loving the creative freedom to do other sweets!

I will be taking multiple DIRTY SODA varities. You can take a kit home or I will mix it for you to enjoy while you stroll around to check out all the vendors.

Thank you to all that made the morning successful. I was two items away from saying "I sold out!" Plus, I loved talking to everyone. The entire vibe was refreshing and left me thanking God for every detail!

Today is GIVE DAY at Milestone Clubhouse. This is your chance to come learn all about this great organization, visit with staff and members.

They have gift baskets for a raffle, mechandise available to purchase and FREE SHAVED ICE (sponsored by United Healthcare).

When I had my storefront, I was asked to have a TE (Training Evaluation) Position. They brought a member, I directly hired them with the understanding it was temporary employment. Honestly, if I would have had open positions, I would have kept them on beyond. We successfully worked alongside four members. What made it so successful? The members, the staff, my entire team that embraced the relationships. Any time that the member/employee needed to be absent (for any reason), a Milestone Staff Member came to work for the day, because they came to learn the position before placement. That was huge for the success of operating a small business when staffing is limited.

Many did not know that when I closed, I had eight (8) employees with five (5) under supportment employement programs. If I had to do it all again, I would 100% do the same and I encourage every single business owner to do the same.

If you want more information, I would love to talk to you. Throughout my career choices, including being self-employed, I will always be an advocate and can share the impact of being involved.
