Are you or someone you know looking for some after school / weekend work? Do you enjoy hamburgers and ice cream (who doesn't)? Then this is the job for you!

Looking for 1-2 cooks to fill our night and weekend team. Must bet 16 or over. Anywhere from 15-25 hours per week.
Is your son bugging you at home every night with nothing to do - might be time to send him out for a job!

Reasons to work at Bogey's?

1 - We aren't like lots of other beginning restaurant jobs. We have a long term management team and work really hard to make sure it is a welcoming and good environment for everyone. We take it very serious that we are a first job to many kids and believe we have a very strong culture.

2 - Lots of places say they have "flexible" scheduling, but really don't. We truly do. We've been working with kids in school and sport since we opened in 1987 so we know how to be flexible in scheduling.

3 - Stay around long enough and earn a Bogey's scholarship. Two employees every semester earn full tuition to HCC on top of their job wages.

It's not the easiest job in the world, and there certainly are expectations, but if you can master being a grill or fry cook at a busy restaurant, there really isn't much you can't do!

Come into the restaurant at 1718 N Plum to get an application to apply!

Fish is back on the menu! While we are a Burger and Shake kind of place, we do love our fish.

Every year throughout Lent, we have our Fish Tacos, a Fish Sandwich, and a Fish Basket. Made with fried white fish, in house slaw, red onions and cilantro, mixed with our house made spicy ranch dressing, these fish tacos are hands down our favorite seasonal item here at Bogey's.

We also have a fantastic Shrimp Basket. Tail on, breaded and fried shrimp, with a side of fries. You won't find a shrimp basket this good at this price anywhere else.

So, even if you are taking a break from burgers and chicken, don't go anywhere else!

It's Super Bowl time! Our Super Bowl Party Pack is perfect for football fans, funny commercial fans, and even the people who really just want to watch the halftime show.

The Super Bowl Party Pack has 40 Boneless Wings and a Jumbo We**ie. All for only $27.99!

Our wings are fried to perfection, and we have two varieties: Buffalo and Honey BBQ. Comes with your choice of dipping sauce. Though we always recommend our house made ranch, both for the wings and the wedgies.

The Party Pack is the perfect addition to your game day plans. Both the wings and wedgies are great fresh, but also good if reheating them later in the day.

Call in your order ahead of time so it is ready when you come to pick it up for game day. (620) 665-8189.

Forgive me in advance, but I have to get on my soapbox for a minute. Something has been bothering me and I've got to get it off my chest.

Sales tax in Kansas. What in the heck is going on!?

You might know that several years ago, Kansas lawmakers decided that we are paying too much sales tax for food (something that we have to have to live, turns out). So they decided to eliminate / drastically cut down on the amount we all pay as sales tax for food. Great!

However, for some reason, this only applies to grocery stores, not restaurants. Why?? I don't really know. Maybe the idea is that we want to encourage people to eat healthy and make food at home. Ok, I can get behind healthy initiatives.

But now that leaves me with my purchases today. I went to Dillon's to get a bag of Halloween candy, though knowing me, it won't last until Halloween. On sale for 9.99! Go through the checkout and get hit with a tax bill of 17 cents. Making my total $10.16. Not too bad.

Then, I decided to balance out my inevitable candy binging tonight, so I came here to Bogey's to get a salad and a small drink. My subtotal came out to 8.78, and my tax bill was 72 cents. Total of $9.50.

That means at Dillons, I paid a tax rate of 1.7%.

At Bogey's, my tax rate was 8.25%. Which is mandated by the state.

I'm paying FIVE TIMES the tax rate at Bogey's for a salad made with freshly processed produce than I am when I buy a giant bag of Snickers from Dillons.

Over the course of a month, lets say you spend $1000 at the grocery story and $1000 at restaurants. You'd be paying $17 in taxes for your groceries, and $82 in taxes at restaurants! That is a huge difference. Especially in the food business where every single penny counts.

How in the world does that make sense?

Every local restaurant competes not only with other restaurants in town, but also grocery stores. We compete for every single food dollar. And for some reason, the state of Kansas has decided that we should provide more encouragement to go to the store and buy a bag of Snickers than to buy a fresh salad from a local restaurant.

I'm sure Kroger has some great lobbyists in Topeka, but maybe if enough restaurants speak up, the state will realize how ridiculous this policy is.

Keep taxes out of food, whether that is at your local burger restaurant or your national super market!

Just a FAIR warning today. The traffic getting into the Fairgrounds parking on 17th is atrocious! Even if you live on Avenue G, it’ll probably be quicker to walk.

Hopefully the Fair parking attendants get things moving a bit quicker but for now it is nearly at a standstill.

RIP Taco John's!

Sometimes a restaurant closes suddenly, and we aren't able to go that last time for one of our favorite things. With Taco John's closing out of the blue, many of us didn't get our last chance to get an order of Potato Ole's.

To try and scratch that itch, for September we are doing our COPYCAT Potato Ole's. (Taco John's in no way endorses or has given us any information on their actual recipe - Please don't sue me TJs!)

We have fiddled around with our own spice mix and think we have landed pretty close. We also will have the "coin" tater tots for the month just for our Ole's.

Come in anytime this month and give them a try. Hopefully they hit the mark!
