This July we've had the pleasure of working with Leyton West! Leyton is a participant in the ADRS Summer Work Experience Program (SWEP), which provides career development opportunities to transition age students that are blind or low vision. He joined our team this summer thanks to a collaboration with the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) and the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS).

"I have greatly benefited from working with [Leyton] on this journey. Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (Huntsville) and the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services have assisted in this experience for our students. I am the Transition Specialist at the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, working with students in our community for the Summer Work Experience Program. My job is rewarding when I see our high school students succeed in career development and gain experience with local companies. This was his 'dream come true' job to be able to have at Lowe Mill A&E!" - Harmony N. Noel

Thank you to AIDB Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, and especially Leyton for all the hard work you've done! We can't wait to see what exciting opportunities your future holds.

This year, Rocket City New Music is kicking off their 5th Season right here at Lowe Mill A&E! Sound Bites is a one-night progressive percussive concert experience unlike anything Huntsville has seen before. Rather than presenting a concert in a single room, audiences are invited to journey through the mill, discovering a series of immersive performances staged throughout this historic 1901 building.

๐ŸŽถ Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026
๐Ÿฅ 7:30 PM
๐ŸŽŸ Reserve your Sound Bites tickets today!

Each stop of the evening pairs contemporary percussion with the work of local artists, food and drink, creating an experience that celebrates Huntsville's creative community while encouraging audiences to explore every corner of one of the city's most important cultural destinations.

As performers and audience move together from one destination to the next, the boundaries between concert, gallery, and gathering begin to disappear. The result is more than a concert. It's an experience that puts the performing arts, visual arts, and culinary arts in direct conversation with one another, serving as a concrete example of Huntsville's creative community operating as a unified ecosystem.

Featuring performances by:
Percussionists Waichi Champion, Benjy Krauss, Sean Ritenauer, Marcelina Suchocka, Andrea Venet, Bryan Wysocki, and a world premiere by composer Chris P. Thompson.
