The Local Bean Coffee Shop is first and foremost a business that seeks to fulfill the mission given by Jesus Christ commonly referred to as the Great Commission: Mat. 28:18-20 WEB— 18 Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the H

oly Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. The Local Bean uses coffee as a means to have encounters with people that may offer opportunities to share the Gospel with people that they may enter into a relationship with God. Coffee is not the End, but is merely a Means to an infinitely more important End, that is the salvation of people from their sin through the death and resurrection of the Living Lord, Jesus. To accomplish the above end, it is therefore important that the Local Bean serves the best coffee a person can have. To do everything unto the glory of God means to make coffee to the best of our ability, using all the resources that are available to us. Every cup of coffee should be made to God’s glory.
