To our valued customers and community:
Over the past 10 years, we have built a business that we call home and created relationships with customers that we now call family.
With heavy hearts, we are deeply saddened to share that Riverside Cafe will be closing its doors on Sunday, August 28th at 2:00.
Talk about closing has been tossed around for months, and it has finally been determined that it is time to hang it up. As most of you know, the owner, Cheryl, is one of the most hard-working people on Earth. The restaurant industry has been a huge part of her life for the last 48 years. From the truck stop in Poncha Springs, Colorado, the Eatery in Salida, to the Frontier Cafe and The Broken Arrow here in Howard, and finally, here at Riverside cafe, she has finally chosen to retire. We have all decided It’s time for all of us to start new chapters and embark on new journeys.
We would like to thank our staff, both past, and present for helping create great experiences for all of our customers. As most of you know, restaurant work is not easy. It is emotionally and physically draining. Blood or not, the staff we have had over the years, has been nothing short of family, and we could not be grateful enough for that.
Whether you’re a morning coffee drinker, just passing by, an out-of-stater that comes back every year, or a local that comes in very often for good food and company, we thank you. It’s true what they say when you’re in an industry like this, the most important thing is the relationships you build around you. Your continuous love and support have never gone unnoticed. The laughs and smiles you all have shared with us will never be forgotten. You all are the ones who kept this establishment running, and what makes saying goodbye so hard
Again, we could not be thankful enough for the love we have been shown. We are going to miss all of you so much, and maybe, hopefully, one day we will see you all again
Yours truly,
The family at Riverside Cafe ❤️
