Every sports bar has a fryer…not many of them have a scratch kitchen.
Here's what's actually happening back there. Five things that aren't on the menu description.
- The fish and chips is cod, hand battered in Harp lager. Fresh, never frozen, made from scratch in the kitchen.
- The shepherd's pie is made from scratch in house, real ingredients, no shortcuts. It's the most mentioned dish in our reviews, by a wide margin.
- The Reuben starts with corned beef made using a housemade recipe, slow cooked, piled onto real sauerkraut.
- Boxty is on the menu, made from scratch using a traditional recipe. Most people in Houston have never even heard of an Irish potato pancake.
- A properly poured Guinness takes 119.5 seconds, not 30. We time it. Rushing it is the actual mistake.
We've been doing it this way at Mo’s Irish Pub since 2003, when our first location in Milwaukee opened.
